I did. I picked Oakland to get bitchslapped. I picked Jacksonville to cover the spread against Denver. I picked K.C. to beat San Diego. I was a moron with the other games, though. I went 5-8-3 in Week 1.
It's funny how I will sometimes be real good with a particular division, but be a moron with others. I haven't kept a record of this, but it seems that I have a winning percentage south of .250 when picking intradivision NFC East games in recent years. Maybe it's not that bad, but it sure seems that way.
This. After reading this message board and some of the back-and-forth with the <ahem> Chargers fans this past January, I have a very hard time rooting for them in any capacity anymore. Although, because Philip Rivers did bail me out with that bomb early in the 4th, I won Week 1 in my ff league with a pretty mediocre score of 83. So, fuckin' A, I guess.
Watching Philip Rivers throwing tantrums like an overgrown toddler was the best part of my football weekend. According to Trent Dilfer, it was because Rivers is "ultra-competitive." Funny, I don't recall Joe Montana or Peyton Manning stomping his feet in frustration or throwing the ball at his Center for messing up the snap. Dick.
