Either you didn't watch the game or you are just being stubborn. From these quotes you are actining as if Baltimore dominated. They Didn't. Our Defense played a hell of a game last night and actually dominated the game at times. but they gave up a few big critical plays and to you that means the D got destroyed. That's a pretty horrible conclusion. The D caused turnovers, put our offense in a position to score and the Offense failed..BIG TIME. The lack of confidence that they showed in Sanchize last night was actually embarassing. All that talk, Bravado , and Bullshit went right the fuk out the window because when push came to shove our offense showed a lack of ballz and killer instinct just like the Colts game!
Royal you know I like you but I question what game you were watching. baltimore's O controlled that game. D's that play a hell of a game don't allow those 3rd and long conversions of 3rd and 9, 3rd and 13, 3rd and 28, 3rd and 9, 3rd and 9, 3rd and 10, 3rd and 7, 3rd and 10, 3rd and 10. I agree about the lack of confidence in Mark but the D was passed on all night long.
Nice to see that junc is keeping his schtick of making ridiculous unfounded statements going. A little disturbing to see a few people actually agreeing with him though. I mean really, the Jets scored 9 points and all of them were due to the defense/special teams. The only first down the offense got on any of the 3 scoring drives was due to a horse collar penalty. Anyone even attempting to rationalize such an idiotic statement as "The Defense Cost Us The Game" needs to have their head examined.
The offense started with the ball deep in Baltimore territory how many times? But yeah the defense who had to play a ridiculous amount of plays because of the offense and allowed 10 points is to blame.
You guys were kept in the game by the defense. Glad to see you guys have delusional fans like some Raven fans who always wanted the defense to do everything.

Ravens were held to 10 points. What more can you ask for from a defense? Maybe if Sanchez and co. could keep the ball on the field for more than 3 plays at a time, the defense could catch a breath and the Ravens wouldn't double up on time of possession.
Thanks junc. I'm looking forward to learning how the Jets defense lost this game like when you taught me that Trent Dilfer was a better QB than Peyton Manning. Your problem in these situations is that you start the discussion with an un-defendable point, bring up an ancillary point or two and then claim that proves the original one. If you had started with the premise that penalties cost the Jets the game and then mentioned all the 3rd downs the Ravens converted due to penalty there might be something worth discussing here, but you always have to go for the outrageous, shocking headline.
OP makes a good point. Because the D was on the field the offense and Sanchez could never get comfotable and into rythem. Sanchez seemed to lack confidence. A lot of that is not being comfortable and in a rythem because he is not on the field. Part of that is because the D could not get off the field and part because the Jets O shot themselves in the foot with dropped passes, Greene's fumble and inability to convert 3rd downs. But IMO the Jets offense got much worse after Greene's fumble because that put a lot more pressure on Sanchez to do something. If you look at his stats last year they got much worse in tight games. The man really needs some good luck and confidence. Otherwise if this continues we may be looking for a new QB next year.
inverse your argument and you see why the OP has no point. If the offense managed something besides a 3 and out the defense could have rested and not been grabbing at wr's all game.
Or if the D actually made stops on 3rd and longs they would have been off the field and the O wouldn't have had to go into an attempt to control the clock and could have run our offense.
Or if the O stopped putting themselves in 3rd and longs then maybe they could have converted one and kept the D off the field. See what I did there? This is a circular argument and to blame one side outright is just plain wrong.
I love how this post has been completely ignored by those wanting to bash on junc. I don't think the D cost us the game but they weren't nearly as elite as we want to make them out to be. People also want to ignore the Heap drop on a TD pass. Actually heap catching that ball would have been a good thing because then the offense would have had to open up a bit bieng down by two scores.
The bottom line is that when your defense gives up 10 points it is reasonable to expect that the offense will score enough points to win the game.
