Expected this, to be honest. Hopefully Pouha can manage this season as the #1 and we use our 1st rounder or something on a big fat NT.

Jenks will be missed, but we did move on last season without him as well.

No! he refuses to learn the nose position in the 3 -4. If he would play the Nose tech Washington would want to keep him.

I would guess Tanny is already on the phone. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in camp this week.

Titans or Jets? Easy choice I would think.

Kris... We hardly knew you. Someone insert the golf cart gif.

Not to mention Ray Rice was still invisible for the entire game without Jenkins in. The defense has been and will continue to be fine.

but i think the haynesworth experiment in DC will end this week, i read somewhere, that they will try hard to trade him the next few days and if there are no takers he is gone

yeah lets trade for the guy who doesn't want to be a nose tackle so that we can play him at nose tackle!

A real shame, Jenkins is a great guy. Worked so hard to get back for this season in a great condition.

Remember, the Jets defense did finish 1st without him last season but it is still a huge loss nevertheless.

I think it was less about the position and more about Shanny.

We dont play a true 3-4 anyway.

    This.

I loved him at UT and on the Titans but he looks horrible in DC.

I don't think I would take a chance with him.

Players like this defense. Jenkins did a lot of penetrating from the NT position which is what Haynesworth wants to do. I'm not saying it would be a great fit, but it may not be as bad as we think at face value.

Got a feeling Tanny will work a trade. The D line is too thin not to. Shaun Rodgers?

The thing about the Jets 3-4 is that it's not a true 3-4 where Haynesworth would be a traditional nose tackle. Plus, Pouha can play that position and having the 2 of them on the field would be no different than Jenkins and Pouha out there together.

That being said, it seems like a longshot for that to happen.

Do we have any crappy players left from the Mangini era that he'd take back for him? Maybe Dwight Lowery and Drew Coleman? haha

I was thinking to myself "The Defense looks great with Big Jenks back in the middle."

As soon as the thought crossed my brain, he was down.

    Ugh.

They're not going to trade for him, but if they did the Jets would probably use Haynesworth at RDE and move Devito into the NT rotation with Pouha. They'd also go a lot more 4-3 fronts with Pouha, Devito and Haynesworth as the tackles.

Edit: Haynesworth and Ellis would be the best set of 3-4 ends in the league right now. Ellis might well be the best 3-4 LDE in the league in a peak season and man he looked good last night.

Not only that, but didn't Jenkins have to be convinced to come play NT? I seem to remember he was reluctant at first when the Jets first approached him.
