Comes out September 14th I really haven't had time to play too many video games lately but I loved the other Halo games so I'm probably going to have to pick this up... Anyone else getting it?
It's good. I've had it for about half a week and I'm up to the sixth mission. The space fighting is weird but it's ok.
I'm a PS3 owner, but I used to have a 360. I think Halo is fucking terrible. The campaign is usually pretty fun, but online play is annoying. It's become a children's game.
I never understood the hype surrounding Halo. I borrowed my friends Xbox just to play Halo back when it came out, and I got bored after the first few missions. It's just a fuckn' first-person shooter.
Halo is the most balanced first person shooter on a console. No other FPS has gameplay that is close to Halo. Call of duty is fun, but it's a camp-fest if you want to play a competitive game. Halo negates camping by having power weapons dispersed throughout each map. If you camp, someone can grab a rocket launcher and blow you up. Basically, there's strategy in weapon selection, game openings, and positioning. Call of duty is a much more casual game. Also, there's no ranking system and match-making in COD. Things like Forge (map-editing) and changing gameplay types helps Halo have longevity.
Played a few games today. I hate how they took away the leveling. The ranking system sucks because it's all about kills instead of wins. Someone can rush all game and average 14 kills and 20 deaths, and they'd be better than someone who goes 10 kills and 5 deaths. I loved how the previous Halos let me play with better players once I leveled up. It won't be the case in Reach.
