Should Schottenheimer be fired? Or should he keep his job?

I am curious to see what the prevailing feeling among Jets fans is right now.

It's more on Sanchez than it is on Schotty.

Btw, if you think Schotty should be fired, then you would have to think that the Raven's should fire their offensive coordinator with the way that Flacco played.

Can't fire him now unfortunately. Should have been fired 4 years ago. 3 years ago. 2 years ago. And should have been fired before last season when Rex brought in a whole new staff.

    My answer wasn't there

No, it was his fault but firing him midseason would be a disaster, he just needs to change his gameplan and let Sanchez make some legit NFL throws.

Really? That's a pretty weird thing to say, don't know what game you watched. Because I watched Flacco and the Ravens passing offense dominate and make all the plays needed to win against one of the toughest secondaries in the NFL. I also watched Mark Sanchez throw to his running back every chance he got, because his coach coached him to be a coward.

No, but their secondary is very suspect, and should definitely have been thrown at much more than they were.

What? I'm not a big Flacco fan, but he played a good game against a defense that's supposed to be the best in the league. Those big plays by the Ravens were from Flacco putting the ball where it needed to be.

ABSOLUTELY. In all my years watching the Jets tonight was the most infuriating game I've ever seen. If we lost b/c Sanchez threw 3 INTs I would've have been OK with that. But Shotty Jr. just waived the white flag for four quarters with his playcalling, which was a sham with the matchup advantages we had against a depleted secondary.

Has anyone on here EVER liked this guy as a play caller?

You act as though a good coach can make any quarterback into a pro-bowler. I'm pretty sure that Schotty didn't coach Sanchez to overthrow his wide receivers and check down to his running backs on every play. The game plan was conservative, but there were chances where Sanchez could have completed some passes.

Go #$%^ yourself man. It wasn't his fault when we were dropping passes left and right. It wasn't his fault when we gave up over 100 yards in one half alone. Our receivers apparently didn't show up today and you wanted us to pass more. The run game existed.

He had a fumble and an interception. The Ravens only scored 10 points even with time of possession in their favor.

Perhaps. But for whatever reason, they are not on the same page. I get the distinct feeling Sanchez does not like Schottenheimer's playcalling. Weren't they arguing on the sidelines? Didn't look good. Sanchez would be a better playcaller at this point.

I mean, Sanchez did try to change every play in the first half into a good one, but that must get annoying fast.

As much as I would like to say yes, I'm gonna say no because you don't fire you're offensive coordinator 1 game into the season.
