it's on both. Schotty has the checkdown so ingrained in his head that he's not spending enough time downfield first. The good thing is it's a coaching issue thats fixable, it better happen quickly though.

Sanchez played the top 1or 2 defenses in the NFL today. They give nothing away in the middle. That said....

The offense which was limp. They showed no passion no fire nothing. Both on the players end and the coaching. It was a giant cluster fuck.

Is it that? Or is the kid rattled and lost out there?

He honestly looked a lot like Trent Edwards out there today...

So Jet fans, do you prefer a passive offense like you saw today, or a more risky offense where there's a possibility of interceptions?

This question goes all the way back to last season. IMO, the only way we ever have a good offense, is if we let Sanchez take risks. Eventually, Sanchez will cut back on the interceptions, and we'll have a potent offense.

I'll take the risky offense. So frustrating to see them play so conservative/scared on offense after waiting all offseason to see how they look.

There were a couple of plays that went downfield including a long gain by Keller that was called back on a penalty.

How about a happy medium? Remember the Houston game from last year? That was probably the best game Schotty has ever called. Sanchez had like 270 yards passing and the Jets had 190 yards rushing.

Tonight was like the evil twin brother of that game. Sanchez/Jets were money on 3rd down, throwing the ball to wideouts repeatedly. One year later, we dont convert on a 3rd down until the final drive. No WR involvement.

Also, where was the WR screen they love to use? Trying a few of those on 1st and 10 still wouldve fit in with their conservative gameplan and it mightve caught the Ravens off guard/built Sanchez's confidence. Instead they pound it up the middle for 1-2 yards all day.

They lose nothing to take a shot 40 yards down the field. If it gets picked off, it's no worse then the inevitable punt. It also helps stretch the field and keep the Ravens from stacking the box.

If you don't take some chances you don't win. That said they need to be smart chances, but if your afraid to throw the ball down field cause your afraid it might be picked off you have no business in the NFL, either as a QB or a coach.

That game was still a bit conservative for my liking. The offense got a lot of yards because our defense was so dominant in that game, which gave extra drives to our offense.

We can still win a lot of games with the way our offense plays. We won't be playing anyone with a defense like the Ravens again unless we make the playoffs.

Normally, I'd give another poster a chance. But seeing as though you're a Phins fan, I'll give you the same treatment I'd give your avatar.

You can get fucked then GTFO.

The offense was heavily criticized last year for doing this. Remember the first play of the Jacksonville game?

Here in peace bro... not trying to offend. But he was getting rid of the ball so quick, before his WRs routes could even develop. Just quickly checking down and dumping off.

I hadnt seen that from him last year...
