Wilson almost looked like Revis in Revis' first game. Wilson showed some great instincts. He still needs to improve when he turns his head to see the football, but that will come with time (hopefully). He looked a lot better than Cromartie
What's up with all these people who never post suddenly showing up and starting threads about how badly we sucked? Our offense was terrible, but when you only show up to point that out, it reeks of trolling.
I could've sworn I saw Revis covering the slot a few times, but maybe I'm wrong. I suppose the coaching staff didn't feel Darrelle was completely in football shape or last year's form.. But Flacco was obviously shitting his pants at the thought of throwing a pass his way tonight.
I fully agree. What is the big deal of having Revis back if he plays on the #3 WR every play? Anyone can cover mason, he is the slowest man alive
My question is why do they allow absolute retards to start a thread that is so stupid that simply opening it makes you dumber?
Bitch @ Greene before you bitch @ Wilson. Wilson at least showed flashes of potential (just not on punt returning) Greene couldnt hold onto the football nor could he catch it. Either he had some serious butterfly's in his stomach about him being the #1 and the new stadium, or I dont know. Eitherway I would not be shocked to see another WR on the active roster this season, and definitely expect LTs load to increase significantly. Id hate to be one of those people who thought Greene was a 1st round fantasy pick after today.
I agree Revis shouldn't have been covering Mason but none of their receivers are that fast.. Mason is smart, runs perfect routes, and has good hands. I don't know how well Wilson would've done in that matchup either. Honestly I think Cromartie might've given up more yardage than Wilson did. Anyway, the guy is a rookie and he made some rookie mistakes against the most experienced receiving corps in the league. I think he'll be alright.
This. Why was Revis not on Boldin? And we shouldn't blame Wilson, Cromartie couldn't stop Boldin. The only CB we had who could was Revis and for some odd reason we didn't put Revis on him.
I don't blame Wilson but he shouldn't be starting. He's way too green. He was out there way too long against superior players.
+1. Yeah, they looked bad on 3rd down, but the D allowed TEN POINTS. 4 of which were bonus points for Braylon being inexplicably in on a kick block. Guaranteed that although tough, that will be invaluable experience for Wilson moving forward. Anyone complaining about the D is missing the big stinking point.
He's still better than Lowery. He had too many match-ups against Boldin. I don't care how much confidence Rex has in his defense, you have to make a better decision than that. Especially after he got burned on the first few plays. Still, everyone calling for Wilson's head is a moron. The guy is just learning how to be a corner in the NFL. A lot of people who were bashing Revis put too much faith/pressure on Wilson to begin with. The guy played about as well as you would expect a rookie to play against Anquan Boldin.
Wilson played very well other than 1 or 2 plays... and I'm not even counting the PI because that was a terrible call.
Wilson will be OK. He's going to make some errors in his first few games but trust me, he's going to be a great corner in this league. Also, am I the only one who thinks the PI play should have been called either defensive holding or illegal contact instead?
playing man is tough when the pressure doesnt get to the QB. if wilson wasnt thrown into the fire, he probably would have looked great. in this game he got outplayed by some legit receivers
