hopefully a significant win with a dominating performance by the offense, the defense & special teams
Yes, Yes, Marginally. I'm on board with you. I think less points on the Jets half, but enough to win after limiting Baltimore to 13. (I said 17-10 somewhere else)
Because they're not, especially without Ed Reed. Beyond that, everyone is piling on Slausson, starting for the Jets, but the Ravens will be without Jared Gaither, and will be switching their right guard out to play the most important spot on their offensive line. The other guy, Chris Chester, who will slot in at right guard, was a sieve last year. Flacco is good, but he succeeds because he doesn't take chances. 45 percent of his completions last season were to running backs. If the Jets can stop the run early and put some points on the board, the Ravens will be reeling. -X-
My theory on Greene last year is that he was never 100% from the ribs injury. This year there hasn't been word one about his ribs or even his ankle. I take that as a sign that he can get it done this year and run the ball 280-320 times if needed. He's gunna be a beast.
Greatest Jet QB since Broadway Joe that should have never been a Jet. This guy should have worn Green for 17 years and he probably would have won multiple Super Bowls here.
Klecko was a little off on his statement about Kyle, but I did like the fact that some of the people around the Jets camp have said that Kyle is further along at this point than Revis was as a rookie.
Wilson is going to be a beast. He had a great camp, gained valuable experience with Revis' absence and is ready to take off. This will go down as one of the best picks this FO will ever make.
To be fair, O'Brien outdueled Marino in that '86 game, and he really looked like a star at one point. He got the crap sacked out of him throughout his career, and that really took a toll on him. After a while, his arm and head were somewhat shot. Jets fans love misery. I never hear Pats fans complain about the fact that they drafted Tony Eason over Marino, or Chiefs fans bitch about Blackledge. -X-
That's him trying to keep professional for his CBS & Westwood 1 gigs. He can't be seen to be a homer but then he goes too far the other way.
Kenny O out dueled Marino on two other occasions as well. First in Week 8 of the 1988 season the Jets beat the Dolphins 44-30. O'Brien went 18/37 for 174 yds and 3 TDs while Marino went 35 - 60 for 521 yds 3 TDs and 5 INTs Then in week 3 of the 1989 season the Jets beat the Dolphins 40-33. O'Brien was 27-37 for 329 yds and 3 TDs while Marino was 33 - 55 for 427 yds 3 TDs and 2 INTs O'Brien also came off the bench in the 1988 week 13 matchup against the Dolphins to throw 2 4th QTR TDs. O'Brien was 6-9 92 yds and 2 TDs while Marino was 17-35 353 yds and 5 TDs. This was also O'Briens 28th birthday. They had some epic battles.
Boomer is honest. He talks the Jets up plenty, but he feels the Ravens are better right now. I don't understand why anyone that doesn't pick the Jets or sing their praises constantly has to be a hater?
Me neither. This could be the toughest regular season opponent the Jets face all year, including the Pats who I well remember getting skewered by the Ravens in the playoffs. I think it all comes down to Sanchez and whether he plays well enough.
Jesus it used to piss me off when they let Marino play in a Hall of Fame jacket. Is that from the 1986 shootout?
