Fantastic, but what happens when they don't have the benefit of playing a team of bilateral amputees?

He's not feeling appreciated over there... Maybe Revis will coax him to join us next year while vacationing on Revis island... just saying

Good thing that the Pats do their talking on the field.

In all seriousness, I'm sure that Randy Moss spent all summer preparing to match up with Revis. He's one of the best receivers in the history of the game, and I'm sure that getting shut down last year really pissed him off.

There's only one problem: Revis has been preparing for him, too.

Next week, Moss will have 3-4 catches for 24-30 yards and 0TD's... In other words revis will lock his ass on the island once again.

no you put Revis on Moss and Cro on Welker. Brady likes throwing those passes in zones that only Welker can stretch out for. the sheer size advantage Cro would have, combined with his ball skills makes those passes more dangerous.

meanwhile old or not Moss can still tear up a D. you put Revis on him and make it a non issue.

then put wilson on Hernandez and hope Gronkowski's big ass doesnt find any holes on the zone.

either way itll be fun to watch. the pats picked up two good TE's in Hernandez and Gronkowski.

Hernandez cant block for shit though so he should be the slot guy for the pats trying to create a mismatch in size on NB.

point in case. itll be a fun chess match to watch.

Basically Randy, cad that he is, was saying that he did not try his best in the two games against Revis. Why, I could not say.

I have been saying it should be the exact opposite since welker torched us in NE last year.

We should play the gameplan Mangini set up in 2008. He put Revis on Welker, and Ty Law (off the street!) on Randy Moss. Welker was basically nullified, and Ty Law's job was jam Moss off the line, every single snap, make his life hell, and let the Safety give you help over top, on every snap. Moss made one catch of significance, the one that sent the game to OT, which was well defended by Law, just a flat out perfect throw by cassel.

This time, you put Revis on Welker, and shut his ass out, then Cro who is twice as physical as Law was at that point in his career can make Moss's day very very long. Plus with his length and elite recovery speed, he can keep with Moss, especially with safety help over top. The key here is you shut down Welker, the hot receiver, where brady will look to go against the blitz every time. You stop their short passing game, you force brady to try and make the big play to Moss, where he will be in double coverage all day. Or you dare him to throw to a rookie all day, you gotta think the rookies will make some mistakes, which could lead to turnovers...

Yes, after they headhunted Strickland so we had nobody that could blow up Welker's screens.

Moss obviously has a lot of respect for Revis.

Personally I wouldn't have Revis cover Welker one-on-one. That, IMO, would be a waste. Welker would still probably have a half dozen catches for around 60 yards (not disrespecting Revis here, but Welker's too quick and runs short little routes... I don't think he could be shut out completely, even with Revis on him). And if I'm the Jets, I'd rather have Welker make 10 catches for 90 and shut Moss down. Cromartie can't handle Moss by himself. Revis can.

I'd put Revis on Welker and Cromartie on Moss, lol.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Revis on Welker, but I still think the better percentage is to put him on Moss. Getting Cromartie and Wilson were moves that enabled the Jets to better match up against teams like the Pats and Colts who have great talent at the #2 wideout spot. Let's see if those moves pay off.

Did you see any of that game yesterday?

I had to stop watching it around halftime.
Cincy was like a bad JV team.

    No pursuit, no tackling.....

That's not a bad idea...but..(and I was thinking along those lines last week)

You KNOW...Revis can take Moss away...so let him.

    Let Cro cover Welker.

Revis and Welker are the same size (roughly)...

Cro is a much bigger man than Welker, and with those long arms, if a ball is even remotely out of place....takeaway.

Let Wilson play whatever other Slapdick is out there.

I was hoping to see signs of the Pats' OL dropping off, but the Bungles were no real test yesterday. One of the announcers said someone needed to tell them the regular season had started. Heh, that was pretty spot on.
