Every play was a short pass, why the hell do they play prevent D? What are they trying to prevent??? Robinson is a hell of an athlete but he has no arm pass 12 yards, Michigan's game plan clearly shows that. I am bashing Notre Dame because they let one guy that was possible to contain completely dominate them. And it will be shown when a team with a real defense faces against Robinson and the 5 play attack.
That's the scheme that Rich Rodriguez has always run. He dinks and dunks it down the field. Rich Rod is a douche bag, but he knows how to use quarterbacks if they fit into his scheme. Denard Robinson is the perfect fit in Rodriguez's offense. The Irish had like three or four players consistently focusing on Robinson - it just wasn't working. A real defense? Notre Dame's defense is loaded with top tier recruits...especially in the front seven. Robinson has something like 855 total yards in two games. I wouldn't be so quick to say that Notre Dame should have contained him. They played a pretty damn good game defensively, yet Robinson still produced. You're not giving Denard Robinson the credit he deserves.
MSUJet85.........you hate ND we all get it. Very myopic POV! It's funny, when MSU takes a loss, we don't hear from you at all. MSU has played inferior opponents so far and has looked OK...nothing special. Let's see next week if you show up when ND beats your Spartans. When Wisconsin kicks your ass up and down the field...let's see what you'll have to say. MSU is a middle of the road team...nothing else.
If this defense was so good Charlie Weis would still be here. Robinson is the Michigan offense and I don't mean their passing game, just once I wish ND would dare Robinson to beat them downfield not play off to allow the 20 screen plays to work, this scheme I do admit if Robinson stays healthy which is a question, he carries it 30+ times a game they are a bowl team . But while it may seem like I'm not giving him enough credit, don't give him the heisman just yet, he torched Uconn and ND, we have no idea how good those teams are
I don't say much because the forum here is pretty dead on most occasions of the year otherwise I would blast my team as well. And you are right I hate ND but I hate Michigan more and I was rooting for ND to win and only saw them have inconsistent QB play and allowed a player to rush for over 230+ yards on them, that is bad no matter how you spin it. As for my team, when did I even mention my team? Your posts only would make sense if I had been bragging about my team and I've clearly have not. I've seen them play inferior teams and I've seen inconsistent play. I am far from please with their defensive play as well but I am at a wait and see position with them. And apparently my hate of ND is mostly truth since they have been just mediocre these past few years even with the service academy schedule.
You're wrong...again. He couldn't do anything with the talent that he brought in and that's where he failed. I believe the Irish is in rebuilding mode - switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4. That defense has a ton of potential.
OK fair enough!! I guess you never mention MSU, cause there isn't much to say. Bashing ND cause you hate them, IMO is pointless and just stirs up shit. Just come on when MSU loses to ND & Wisconsin and give them props and I will have more respect for you.
Why not? App State was the #1 team in I-AA and though Michigan was #5 at the time they ended up being a bad team that year. JMU was in the bottom of the top 25 in I-AA and Tech was 13th Michigan was just ranked wrong
Apparently they are in rebuilding mode allowing 258 rushing yards to the QB I've never seen a good defense do that
Anyone watching Trent Richardson of Alabama? He's in beast-mode. I've been dying to see this kid carry the load, since I think (and I know I'm not alone) that he's a superior back to Ingram. It takes 5 guys to bring this kid down almost every time. Very quick feet and strong as an ox.
I think he's better too....Ingram seems more like a product of the system while Richardson stands alone as a force
Let's not got that far, Ingram is a great back in his own right, he just doesn't have the speed and explosiveness of T-Rich(Trent)...
Lattimore is a little frightening, I saw him break some tackles which he had no business breaking, kid looks absolutely sick
Robinson had a silly game for the Wolverines. I've never seen a Michigan player have that big an effect on a game before. It's too bad the defense blows chunks and that's likely to cap them at 8-4 (or 5-7 if Robinson gets hurt). I've been waiting for an offensive star of that caliber for 40 years now and man he is fun to watch.
