So much for that "strained pectoral." http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AsZHM3ZGVPEBnhtrtpDu0lQ5nYcB?slug=ap-mets-santana He "has a torn anterior capsule on the front and bottom of his pitching shoulder." Evidently, Posada returned from this same injury. But Posada isn't a pitcher and was never known for his arm. Status for the start of next season is unknown.
Because they are a shit franchise with an awful owner and a complete joke of a front office. They are a disgrace from the top down to the bottom. This is now two years in a row Santana has broken down. My guess is he'll come back but he was already far from that guy in Minnesota and this is only going to further remove him from that guy.
Prior and Wang had the same problem and neither has pitched in the Major Leagues since then. By the way, who was the Mets fan or fans on this site who predicted Wang was going to be good this year and would beat the Mets at least once? If you are reading this and you were one of those Wang guys, kindly ask someone to bitchslap you.
Actually 3 years in a row. In 08 after the offseason he had surgery on his knee. I don't quite remember 100% but I think he got the injury when he pitched on 3 days rest for the 2nd to last game of the season. We were fighting the Phils for the playoffs and didn't make it. Sadly I don't see how the Mets rid themselves of the Wilpons. The thing that infuriates me the most is how little boy Wilpon knows fuckall about baseball but involves himself in major decisions anyways. The mets are his little plaything.
I'm not saying the poster is a bad guy or a dumbass, but that particular woe is me- the Mets didn't sign Wang and he'll come back this year and beat the Mets this year comment really annoyed me. So for having that specific thought that person should get his wife or girlfriend or mom to bitchslap him across the face sometime soon.
Great, so i guess its Johan aka Tom Glavine version 2.0 next season, wonderful. The Mets have really lessoned my interest in baseball, what a piece of shit team.
I got bored. *EDIT* Good call on Bobby Abreu too. Somebody get the owners on the line, they're got their new GM right here on TGG.
Not exactly. Prior has suffered three capsular tears, as well as a broken elbow that I don't think ever properly healed. Wang also had that foot injury that probably still affects his ability to drive towards the plate, and he was always totally reliant on the sinker. Johan is no longer going to be Johan, but it's possible he could be a fifth starter of some quality. The Mets at this point will just have to hope they can get anything out of him, since they still owe him nearly 80 million. -X-
