On a slightly larger scale, 15 in 4 games. 75% of his picks came in 4 games. Oddly enough, we were in decent position to win 2 of those 4 games

Thats the problem.. You cant expect our d-line to be healthy the entire season.. It could happen but you shouldn't count on it. If Jenkins and/or Ellis go down we might have a problem against the run.

The obvious answer is Sanchez. The Jets clearly won in spite of not because of Sanchez's play last season. He'll need to make a quantum leap in order to be considered one of the strengths of the team. He certainly has no shortage of weapons this year so there can't really be any excuses.

    They did in the preseason.

I think we're all going to be pleasantly surprised this season.

Shows you how fuckin good this defense is, when the QB throws multiple picks and the team can still win.

On the other side, the defense did not come through in the clutch at the end of certain games as well.

The Jets weak link is their depth. I firmly believe that we are one of the top 3 teams in football if everyone's healthy, but I don't trust the second or third stringers for shit.

Unfortunately this is the NFL and injuries happen, so we're gonna have to confront this weakness eventually.

well, 3rd stringer are rarely going to pick up where a starter left off.

However, I agree with the fact that the rotational 2nd stringers do need to get better. They are the weakest link.

Its Schotty's fault. He sucks. He's too cutesy. Its Martyball Jr. Bring back Heimerdinger/Hackett.

I love how Schotty keeps getting blamed for our shitty offense. We do know he calls the RUNNING plays as well right? The Jets were a pretty good running team last year if I remember correctly, although its a little hazy. LT has looked ok in the pre-season. Greene was "ok" on the playoffs last year. TJ had his best year last year? hmmmm....

It must be his play calling and have nothing to do with the play of the man under center....

Well Ducasse won't see the field all year.

Slauson has had one bad pass blocking play that Hard Knocks has made him famous for. He's done a good job at basically being a rookie LG.

The fact that expectations shouldn't be too high for a second year QB does not eliminate him from the weakest link conversation. It is what it is.

I understand the point about bench depth being the weakest link, but it depends where on the team you are looking. Wideout, TE, linebacker and now with Revis back the secondary don't look particularly thin, and even RB is arguably not that bad. It's really both lines that losing key starters on would be scary.

That being the case I think LG and Sanchez are arguably tied for the answer here, but I remain hopeful that we get to see the Sanchez of the playoffs and not early last year.

WHich means the answer is left guard.

Just to throw a different angle out there: the pass rush. As good as our defense is we have too many troubles pressuring/hitting the qb if we aren't blitzing the entire house.

Actually Callahan is the running game guru. That's been reported more than once.

Its his time and place playcalling. It did get better when Rex sat in meetings half way through the season.

I'm not saying he should be excused, I'm saying no one should expect Rivers numbers in year two. People are.
