Dixon is by far the better athlete, but Kroul has been in the system for two years so he has the playbook edge over Dixon.

Probably it would be the former. That way, if Dixon/supposed addition didn't work out then the Jets could reactivate Kroul.

I figured it would be the former, but that means Gilbert would likely be bumped. Of course, Manish doesn't even have him there at all yet.

He's probably not on it yet. We just got 'definitive' word that he was signed to the PS earlier today. He may be signing and actually be added tomorrow.

He only lists 6 names, I thought there were 8 spots on the PS. Looks like 2 are open. Room for Gilbert and Jackson.

Yeah, I was saying if Gilbert was on there we'd be full. I don't think we'd cut someone else and keep 3 DL on the PS if Kroul stepped down. Tevaseu or Gilbert would get cut.

What about someone in Cleveland? Rogers just returned to practice. They may have been carrying one extra.

    Eh, fuck this speculation.

Yea, I saw that after I posted my comment.

    I don't think there's a drive-thru anywhere near my apartment.

I honestly dont think its Zona

If its from the Ravens my money is on a OLB. They have Jarret Johnson, Sergio Kindle, Antwan Barnes, Suggs, and Kruger. All young guys , all used to a rex ryan system, and outside of Kindle all pretty healthy. outside of that they have nobody that id see as a jet.

If its the Browns Shaun Rogers (who they prob wouldnt get rid of unless they think hes near done) then you got DT Ahtyba Rubin or one of their older OLBs like Fujita or David Bowens.

Not many guys on the steelers I could see it being.

Packers are really short at defensive depth especially at OLB, they got some young DEs but nobody most people have heard of.

Dallas my best guess would be Spears, or one of their young safeties Alan Ball/Michael Hamlin/ (assuming we arent comfortable with Pool/Smith and Dallas likes rookieOwusu-Ansah)

Chiefs also got alot of safety depth with guys like Jon McGraw being expendable. Possibly Vrabel is the only other guy I could see them trading but I wouldnt put money on that.

Broncos would likely be trading a end if anything. Ryan Mcbean, Jarvis Green (I could see this) Justin Bannan are the likely ones. Cant see them trading a OLB with dumerville hurt.

For the Chargers Merriman is their most likely trade bait, possibly a DT like Antonio Garay or Nwagbuo.

49ers could possibly trade DE Sopoaga/Mcdonald and an expenable OLB out of Manny Lawson/Ahmad Brooks and a decent amount of safety depth which would depend on our situation.

Those were all the guys that seemed most expendable/likely to get traded IMO

(Hmm Jarvis Green is someone I would put near the top of my most likely list). Apparently he was cut by Denver and could end up on the Patriots if we dont sign him

As a matter of fact I think Jarvis Green is by far the most likely guy of all those teams.

No idea what hes worth he signed a 4 year 20 million dollar for Denver in March and already got cut and he definitely has interest from a couple of teams (pats being one of them) so it could explain much

If it's a bidding war it sounds like a free agent.

Going with Jarvis Green if it really is anything and it's a defensive player. He's the only one that's a free agent that makes sense (other possibly being Thomas but we already know the team won't sign him if they do until after week one, since he'd be a possible candidate to be cut during the season).

New England and other 3-4 teams would make a push to try to sign him even though Denver cut him. Mind you a bidding war doesn't mean a bunch of money either, it just means other teams are interested in signing him and are trying to sign him.

I love how they say "pitch" and "bidding war."

Pitch is for trades, bidding wars are for FAs. Make up your mind.

Suppman I agree on the FA front with you, if it turns out to be a FA. Green is a definite possibility because I'm going to predict its a DLmen.

I can't remember off hand any other veteran FAs who play in a 3-4 who got cut recently that the Jets might want.

Watch this become extremely anti-climatic tomorrow.

Alan is real good people.Alan is probably the coolest, most down to earth professional athlete i've ever met.

partied with him about 2 years ago. real humble, funny dude. He's the last guy in the world to drop the "I play football" line also, with women.

surprised he didnt' get more burn on the cardinals depth chart until recently.

There's no real direct statement on his twitter about it. He was released on Sept 5, and there's nothing.

Any way we can get Clowney and Davis off the Twitter on the front page? I feel like I'm getting dumber by the minute reading it and it takes up 75% of the posts.
