possibly. years start to blend together after a while. for some reason thought this wasn't a rex ryan move EDIT: you're right. "The Jets released Moore on February 26, 2009. However, he was re-signed on February 27, 2009." from Wikipedia
People trying to shove him coming back today in the face of people upset when he was cut have no basis. No one outside the organization and likely anyone outside of a few select in the organization had any idea what it was initially about (not cutting a CB before Revis was signed). This more than anything goes to show the kind of person and player Richardson is. It also goes to show why even now when players know what exactly went on, still don't really like it.
It's been long enough now and I'm no spelling/grammar Nazi as seen in my posts. BUT, everyone say and spell it with me. C-O-N-N-E-R So in a post it would look like this, man that Conner is a beast.
LOL I always refereed to him as Coles. You're right, he has one of the easiest names on the team. Besides, Smith, and B. Smith. lol
New to the board...trying to get my post count up so I can see more of the posts. Other than that...I was wondering why the Jets would resign T-Rich today instead of after week 1 so they wouldn't have to guarantee him any money.
They are going to need him for game 1. Could be our toughest game right off the bat. We want to send a message to the league too.
You are not new to the board. You created an account more than three years ago. To answer your question, the Jets want to do good by the player and the team. Richardson is as respected as any player in the league. The coaching staff wants him on the team. His salary is not prohibitive. Let him get the guaranteed money. It's not that big of an issue. With Richardson back in the fold, some of his teammates panties are no longer in a bunch. If the Jets wanted to be cheap and waited till after Week 1 to re-sign him, there would have been a chance that Richardson could have signed elsewhere. What if the Vikes lost their fullback in Week 1? With Richardson on the street, he maybe would have gone back there. Who knows. EDIT: Oh, and specifically having him play vs Baltimore is huge. The Baltimore defense is a tough, tough assignment for John Conner to make his debut. I'd rather see Richardson get more snaps than Conner in the opener.
