When I found out how it totally ruined the move for me... Watch the video I posted and every other Sweet Chin Music and look when he kicks... He slaps his leg to give the "smack" effect.
If you look at HBK in some of his earlier matches he was in spandex and then later on in his career he switches to leather. I always wondered what was up with that. Now I'm starting to think he switched to leather to make the clap sound even louder.
Here are some more obvious clap sounds...Now I find it amusing. The Kurt Angle kick he smacks his own ass. Wow those are amazing, if your looking for it then yes it's blatantly obvious howver the Benoit one is so fast that you can barely see it but if you notice the camera angle always does a decent job of trying to hide it.
I go back to being a fan of HBK since like 96. And never did I notice it. I always assumed it was just a great sell by whoever was getting kicked and that's it. To find out 14 some odd years later how he gets the smack it puts a downer on me. Like...I wish you didn't tell me type thing. Alio...which move for TheRock?
Wow, I really can't believe there are people who couldn't outright SEE it. As for the Rock, the open handed "punches" he threw all coincided with the Rock smacking his own thigh for the sound effect.
Ecko I bow to you. That was a very convincing string of videos. For me to not agree now would be foolish lol
I met Matt years ago in the crowd at a Fozzy concert in Charlotte. He seemed like a nice guy; talking to every fan who approached him, signing stuff. Some people can be a real dick about it when they're on their own time away from their gig, but he wasn't standoffish at all. Jericho was real cool too, standing around for a very long time after the show to make sure everybody in the club got a chance to meet him and sign stuff. I read that Matt has been going through substance abuse and depression problems. It sucks to watch somebody screw up their lives like that, and I hope he sees the light soon. Going through life fucked up and sick is no way to live, and if you make it through, you realize that's a lot of your best years you wasted and will never get back. It sucks worse than anything, I know that firsthand.
I didn't hear he had these types of problems. It's sad really that its come to this since he was so good in his V1 days but ever since his return and fued with Edge hes really turned into shit in the ring. I read the only reason the WWE keeps him around is because they're afraid of a Hardy Boys revival in TNA, but who cares really? They both equally suck now and I highly doubt he'd be any better in TNA then he is in WWE. I actually did feel sorry for him the first time he was released. His girlfriend cheats on him and the company treats him like shit but now if they get rid of him a 2nd time its his own fault.
The reason he is so fat is because of lingering intestinal problems. Although I think he got them taken care of a while back so he would have been able to shed the weight by now. This was straight from his own mouth on a morning radio show.
That sounds about right. Seems like he gained a bunch of weight from that and then never really attempted to lose it afterward.
