And he was very smart to do so b/c he didn't have the leverage in the negotiations. He got big guaranteed money however which is great for him and for his family.
So when Woody, Rex, Tanny, Revis, and Agents all got in a room together to talk this out- a deal was reached.
Revis's jerk agents were going to play this out to the bitter end. It was obvious that the Jets would not cave WEEKS ago. Idiots.
No offense but the minute Tannenbaum starts being a "nice" guy in your book is the minute he gets fired. He's not here to be nice, he's here to put a winner on the field.
unfortunately from what's being posted it sounds like his douchebag agents did well for their client-MEVI$...unfortunately for the rest of the league.
Oh, I'm not complaining. I figured it was going to come down to the wire. I predicted during the day that it would end tomorrow.
Being an NFL GM is not about being a great guy. It is about putting the best team on the field. When the NFL has 60 man rosters, those guys might stay on the team, but only 45 get to suit up on Sundays. Jones looked washed up at the end of last year and LT looks a step or two faster in the preseason. Faneca was a revolving door on passing downs and was getting paid a boatload of money. TRich got terminated - only one fullback needed and Connor is a beast. Coles - I don't even know what you are talking about - he was done in 2008. And Kendall was asking for too much money and making an ass of himself years ago. That is ancient history. The man has drafted well and made some great additions to this team. The only player he has contract problems with is Revis.
