people better not complain about 4 years... 12 hours ago everyone would have been so happy if he signed now he did but it isnt 7 years and people r upset?
This whole thing was about guaranteed money, that's what he really wanted all along. And he got it, almost the whole deal is guaranteed.
nope I'm assuming his other contract was ripped up. then revis becomes a FA again in 4 years and could get another big deal.
They did. Both sides won--the Jets get their best player back on reasonable terms, and Revis is no longer criminally underpaid.
It's all about the guaranteed money, which he got. And now he'll be a FA again when he's 29 and still due another huge payday.
I'm guessing the 10/120 paid very little in 2010 season. He wanted money up front and a decent 2010 salary. He got the Aso contract with a year added on.
That's a fuck load of guaranteed money but otherwise a good deal for the Jets. I wonder how it's structured, but we should be able to sign Harris now.
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread (REVIS SIGNS!!!!) Per Manish Revis spent part of holdout in So Fla training with former CB & mentor Ty Law, per source. He's ready to go for Sept 13 opener v Ravens #nfl He's ready to go!!
It's totally fair. The guaranteed money was the key. $30 to $35 million was the correct range. Below $30 million and Revis and his agents didn't do a good job. Anything over $35 million and I felt that that would mean the Jets and Tannenbaum went too far. $32 million guaranteed is perfect in my opinion. I'm looking at a text I sent my Vikings fan friend when the Tim Cowlishaw bullshit started. I wrote, "I don't buy the Cowlishaw story. I dont see the point in revis accepting the jets offer at this time. If he was to cave then do it after Labor Day. I believe he comes back on 9/7." So sue me. I was off by a day.
Awesome side effect of all this? Previously irrational posters now trying to shit on other people and pretend they were on the right side. Amazing.
