In that situation, TRich's voice in the huddle will mean next to nothing. It will not affect how Mark throws the ball or how well Cotchery/Edwards catches it. Locker room leaders do most of their work during training camp. They also set the tone during practice, help/teach the younger players, etc. A lot of posters here are overrating the "Hoo-Rah" type leaders. They might work in Hollywood movies, but do little to the actual performance of players on the field. Regardless, T-Rich and Coles are both likely on their last NFL season. It's time for Sanchez to take over this team. I bet if T-Rich retired before the season, no one would be thinking twice about this move.
