It's very possible TRich doesn't get picked up by another team. He was a FA for several months after the 2009 season before we picked him up. We also have signed him to 1-year deals the last 3 seasons, so it's not like teams have been bending over backwards trying to sign him.
I thought they let T-rich walk so that their young FB could step up? whats his name tahi or something or other? either way, I think there are only 3 places he plays this season. Minnesota, NY, or KC. No way KC brings him back, so its either Minny or NY. My guess is he doesn't really want to play with favre right now. My guess is that if Tanny said to him "T-rich, i have to bring in this OL guy right now, and we are going to cut either him or Hunter in a week, would you be willing to take a week off and come back here after week 1?"
Fullbacks You can't keep 2 fullbacks. You keep the one that plays special teams. Richardson was with the Jets for only a short time. He seems like a good guy but it is time to move on. I am surprised about the emotional response. Don't take this leadership stuff too seriously. Leaders emerge. Training camp is a bore and coaches have to come up with something to get their attention.
So how much money have we saved now to go towards Revis? T-Rich and his 850k, Faneca we saved what 2 million? Thomas Jones, Coles, Marques Douglas, Kerry Rhodes. Coleman and Clemens took pay cuts. Cutting T-Rich better mean that we are really getting closer to signing Revis and badly needed that 850k, because otherwise this just doesnt make much sense.
The Jets are literally losers. I don't care if people don't like me saying that, but this is an uncapped year. This is supposed to be a Super Bowl team. Whats with all the cuts of cheap veteran leaders like Coles and Richardson? How can it be about money in an uncapped year? The Jets are that cheap? Jeez.
An uncapped year doesn't just mean you can pay everyone as much as you want without any consequences. You have to clear money off last year's cap. It's not about being cheap.
It's not a completely uncapped year when it comes to trying to resign a holdout player. Great, this fanbase is gunna chicken little the shit out of this situation.
He will be re-signed after week 1 at a non-guaranteed salary. At least that's the smart thinking currently.
Manish: No promises, but league source just told me there's solid chance Tony Richardson returns after Wk 1(so $$ won't be guaranteed for yr) #nfl
Why should he do that? So his guaranteed money can go to Mevis? Let him sign with some other organization who actually appreciates him and needs veteran leadership. This is pretty shocking, T-Rich was still one of the best FBs in the league and a big part of the Jets leading the league in rushing last year.
f*ck it ..... cut Ducasse and Mcknight today...they are undevelopable IMO......literally becoming Revis Island.
