I thought it was just about saving money period. Coles would get like 900k or something if he played week one and everyone knows he'd be cut once Holmes comes back. So that would be 900k for 4 weeks. But if he doesnt play week 1 it becomes around 160k for 3 weeks. Which obviously saves some money.

The thing about it is, it doesnt really matter anyway in regards to Revis. I'm pretty sure the Jets have a very very little (under a mill) amount of cap space left from last year anyway. So what would they do? Guarantee that for Revis? I doubt it would change his mind.

I assumed they were looking to do limited future guarantees and transfer the rest to a SB and periodic CBs. It only crossed my mind because of the discussions of doing to TRich what they did to Coles.

That's possible. I just thought it had to do with future guarantees that are for both skill and injury. Which is why Ferg and Mangold had to pick one. But these vet's contracts arent really future guarantees in the same sense as if a player got a new contract.

Didn't PFT say that Gilbet is signed to our PS?

I believe Victor "Macho" Harris was cut by Philly. Any chance the Jets might be interested in him at safety?

That would be an awesome move, but we'd probably have to get rid of Ihedigbo.

This one is straight. #Jets put in a claim for #Bears LB Tim Shaw. He was awarded to #Titans, who have a better position in waiver process.

per Briggs... so who is this Shaw guy? Just curious...

EDIT: ah he's a ST ace... too bad we didn't get him... I wonder if he would've taken Laury's or Cummings place...

We have Brad Smith already, can't see that happening...

Babineaux cut by the Seahawks according to A. Schefter. Can he still play?? I know we have a crowded secondary, but I remember him being a pretty good player.

Just noticed Shipley didn't make the Eagles 53-man roster. I find that surprising. E, WW, or Mick...you guys know the college guys better than me, surprising to any of you??

Edit: Bobby Carpenter released by Rams, too. I know he hasn't really lived up to his potential, but he's still young, that's a little surprised to me too.

I'd rather have him than Patrick fucking Turner.

He's already on the Iggles PS. Just thought it was surprising he didn't make the roster. Well then, I guess, if he made it to the PS he must have went unclaimed....hmm...like I said there are people on this board that I trust their judgment on the college guys better than myself, but I remember him being a beast in the Big Ten.

Wasn't Shipley a 7th rounder? I doubt he draws up much interest. Philly doesn't have a great line to begin with.
