I don't think it's a big deal thinking Brown should be brought in for a workout. I disagree, thinking I wouldn't want to rattle Folk's confidence, hoping he can get back to his 2008 level, but if he kicks like he did last year to start the season, he'll be out of here. And missing an extra point is not a good start.
They also just let go of Karl Paymah. I wouldn't mind bringing him in for a look, see if he could take Drew Coleman's spot.
everyone has to stop hoping we are tossing drew coleman. His entire salary for the year is guaranteed. He isn't getting cut. Traded is our only hope of not seeing him hit the field this year. Believe me i want his ass gone more than any player on this team, but that doesn't make it likely that we never see him again.
Wow, a lot of interesting moves out there. Broncos cut Jarvis Green, that was a shocker. I don't think we could afford him, even after being cut. But they let go of Darrell Reid, too; Reid isn't healthy, but the man can lay the wood on special teams when he is. Pierre Woods cut by the Patriots. Might want to call him. Brandon McDonald in Cleveland. I'm sure Rex is calling Rob for some info about that guy. He'd be a step up at nickel if Revis doesn't return.
Freddie Barnes just got waived by the Bears the other day. I was hoping we would of originally drafted this guy and would love taking a look at him to replace someone like Clowney. Cant imagine what he did to get waived though (weird thing is the guy was never even thrown a pass the entire preseason, could he really have been that bad that the bears wouldnt even use him in preseason ?)
could be injury. also if you can't play ST, you can not be a 5/6th receiver in the NFL... I don't know if barnes played any ST at BG, but if he couldnt that would explain the cut in chicago.
They had him 7th on their depth chart. Youd figure they would at least use the guy in preseason just to see what hes got before cutting him, especially since their wr corp kind of sucks. Dont think he did much special teams since he was far too important to his offense in college.
best moves we could've made in the off-season would have been: QB) Jeff Garcia > Brunell K) Neil Rackers > Folk but theres no looking back now just roll with the punches, it will we interesting to see if we pick anyone up off waivers
JennyVrentas Jets claimed WR Patrick Turner, who was released by Miami, according to person w/direct knowledge of transaction. #nyj 2 minutes ago via web
If we signed Rackers then Westerman or Cummings would be our starting LB for the first couple of weeks.
JennyVrentas: Jets contacted Chauncey Washington's agent and told him that they plan to waive Chauncey + hope to keep him on p-squad. #nyj about 1 minute ago reply
