Joe Namath is a pimp. Fur coats on the sideline, PIMPIN!!!! The guarantee, PIMPIN!!!! The Suzy Kolber deal, NOT SO PIMPIN!!!! But hilarious and still a little pimpin... I respect him 100% for what he did for the Jets and what he did for football as a whole. That being said, I'm not sure I trust everything he has to say as far as the Jets play goes. Football has changed a ton since the days of Broadway Joe and watching him on Hard Knocks, I was annoyed by him. I'm not sure Sanchez can learn anything from Namath, he's already a pimp.
Sanchez couldn't carry Joe's jock either on the field or off it. He could learn a whole lot from paying attention to Broadway Joe. He doesn't have Namath's physical gifts, but Sanchez could still learn a great deal. That is part of why they have tried to surround Sanchez with older more experienced QBs like Brunell and Cav. Neither of whom could carry Namath's Jock either...but hey its better than nothing.
17A - Although Broadway Joe comes across like a cranky senior citizen in the episode of Hard Knocks, the guy consistently has been the face of this franchise for many years. Other than he and the few who were honored during the ceremony during the preseason Jets/Giants game, we really don't have any good history worth remembering. When I see Joe, I see the hope of the Jets to possibly make it to and win a Super bowl. If you surround yourself with enough winners, maybe it will rub off. If you don't want to watch "Broadway Joe TV", then don't watch. But he did look silly in that getup. Someone should have pulled the shorts down to keep him from looking like Steve Urkel.
trailer park??? ha ha come on you can do better than that. btw i feel better after lunch the hate has ceased somewhat. rough morning. 9 days till the opener
Unless you woke up in bed next to his beast daughter, I'm not sure how your rough morning could have led to Joe hate.
i almost wrote a hate thread about you, gqsanchez and scikotic and the 3 way love affairyou guys have. FACT yea i dont even know where taht came from. but namath was on 1050 espn radio talking about revis and the jets season and i just lost it.
Joe Namath is easily one of the most over rated ex-players, but as a Bills fan, I am indebted to what he and the Jets did in SB III. The NFL wouldn't be what it is today without that game. Thanks Bway Joe, now shut up and kiss Suzy!!!!!!!
Obviously, 17a had a bad night/morning to go after Namath like this. I understand his basic point. I don't need to see broadwayjoe.tv. I don't need to see him on Twitter or all of these things. But at the same time, he's an all-time Jet, and he still loves this team. At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with that, and if you're tired of him, just ignore him. Once the season starts, you won't hear that much from him. It's great to see an old great Jet still rooting for and loving his team. That said, I doubt I ever visit broadwayjoe.tv.
Very well stated. The guy who wrote this does not know much about football. Joe played in an era of throwing the ball all over the place. it was exciting and led to high scores and some INTS. I still do not know who had a quicker release then Joe. he was and is the face of this team and any person who denigrates him, denigrates the Jets. I saw Joe at practice with two bad knees aching him. yet he stayed out there signing autographs for every kid out there. He was Mr. NY JET and I resent the writer for saying what he did without knowing the real Joe Namath. i for one will never get tired of seeing him around our team.
That pic of him holding the wine glass while smirking enrages me so much I won't even bother posting a picture of it. You all know the picture. Fucking bag o' douche.
