Gee Puck if I had actually said that then you should easily be able to provide the quote of me saying that. But the fact is that I never said the Jets should let anybody rot. Ergo you are making things up. Please stop making things up and claiming that I said them.

What I have been consistently saying and what you apparently are unable to grasp is that the Jets aren't making Revis do anything. Revis is the one who has decided to choose to hold out and not play. Revis can change his mind this morning and decide he wants to play. Its not up to the Jets.

The Jets will be ok without Revis. It would have been great watching him as part of the defense this year but as others have pointed out he's unlikely to be able to produce the all-time great season he had last year in back to back seasons.

Paying a guy for 10 years based on what he did for you last season is a fail in the NFL.

This is how I feel. I am rooting for the Jets regardless of who's covering the opposing teams best receiver. I'm moving on. Worrying about some guy and his contract is a waste of time. He will be there or he will not be there.

Whoa. A Revis/Rex meeting has entered our collective unconscious.

Just went on that site. Ed Reed is out for the Jets game. WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO.

No Dominique Foxworth and no Ed Reed. I'd much rather have our current secondary than what the Ravens will have on the field that night.

I'd say Tuesday is the limit to where Revis could be back and 100% for the Ravens game. Not looking good.......

I'm holding out of this thread until Revis reports to the team.

    That'll show him.

I just realized that there will never be a reason to close this thread until Revis shows up or is traded. That's a really scary thought.

one, QB's and CB's are valued completely differently so there simply is no comparison between the tw.

two, the Vikings didn't pay Favre for 10 years.

three, Schefter is a fucking idiot for not knowing the difference.

Schefter is implying that Revis is the most important player on the Jets. Anyone who thinks that is a giant douchebag, and an idiot.

considering the Jets are signing all their other players, you can't claim that simply not signing or trading Revis will create that reputation.

and there is a benefit to not trading Revis and sitting him. by all accounts he owes the duration of his contract, that he still owes us a year at $1 million regardless. he sits, he owes us next year at $1 million. sits two years, the next year at $1 million. so, unless you actually believe Revis is willing to never play football again and never sign another NFL contract, he will have to come back at some point.

I see a huge benefit by making him sit and wait until he gives us that year. once he and other teams know the Jets aren't flinching, he will have to come back, plus teams will be willing to give up more because they no the Jets aren't desperate to unload him for simply any compensation.

he may take up a roster spot, but he isn't very expensive to do so under his current contract. you let him he sit, it is to the Jets best interest absent of having him actually play.

I thought his job was to report the news not tell teams what to do,

    #4)

The Viqueens were much more desperate to sign Favre then we are to sign Revis

You don't see Rex sending Jenkins, Mangold and Sanchez to his house to talk him into playing

Who is then? It is a tough question. The team is not carried by any one person really like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. So Revis could be the most important. Mangold? DBrick? Harris? Big Jenks? Scott? Sanchez? Its tough. Thats what makes the team so good I would say.
