I agree, and like they say, a talented pass catching TE should always become a young QB's best friend. Sanchez is blessed to have a pass catching TE such as Keller, lets hope to see a lot more of #81 this season.

Last season Dustin Keller had two really strong games. Week 1 against the Texans where he put up 4 catches for 94 yards and week 8 against the Dolphins where he put up 8 catches, 76 yards, 1 TD.

But Dustin Keller really had a coming out party during the playoffs. He played his ass off and Sanchez was hitting him. Scored a TD during all 3 playoff games. 12 catches, 181 yards, 3 TD's against the Bengals, Chargers and Colts.

Would like to see Keller put up a solid 64 catches, 800 yards with 8 TD's this season. We may be a run first type of offense, we may have other pass catching talents such as Edwards, Holmes, Cotchery and L.T, but there is no reason on earth why Dustin Keller shouldn't dominate football games. He's a matchup problem waiting to happen for opposing D's.

I agree. I never understood the reason on letting Faneca go. Yes, he was average at best in pass protection, but he was still one of the best run blocking LG's in the league.

We thought Faneca was suspect in pass protection? Well, our rookie Vlad has been lost out there and could have got Sanchez killed during preseason. Slauson has beat out Vlad during camp and preseason but even Slauson allowed a clear hit or two on Sanchez during the preseason.

I'm confident with our offensive line as a whole, but I'm not confident with our LG position. I like the idea of Slauson starting over a rookie in Vlad though, for the simple fact, it's obvious Vlad is more of a natural tackle.

Yes, but Housh has a fat contract and they also like Branch.

well i would be for Housh.

If the goal is to bring in as many talented football players as we can, Housh has more talent than Clowney. So that wouldn't shock me. Especially if they feel they have Db's who can do the gunner position on ST as good or better than him.

Hopefully Vlad gets up to speed fast, he has all the physical characteristics to make it in this league. For now Tomlinson and Greene will have to clean up any breach on our left side. "Ground 'n Pound"

This is the kind of situation Tanny would normally be drooling over (pay him league minimum, some other team foots the rest), but we don't need another WR, so it'll pass on to some other team.

I'm more concerned about our LG position than any other position right now. We have enough receivers.

yeah.. I still don't buy it. Picking up the $7m tab for what'd be a 4th string WR - that's crazy talk. Plus he's over the hill and has an attitude problem.

Houzmenada has a very weird contract. The team who trades for him will be paying him jack shit (close to the vet minimum) and the rest will be paid for by Seattle

And im sure there will be people wondering if Joe McKnight is involved as well

Its all about going cheap. The jets dont wanna tie up lots of money, so if they could get someone pretty good and have the other team foot most of the bill theyll be all over it.

my point still is if the Jets are looking to add talent, then Housh, certainly adds that. He sounds like he definately would be only a single year guy in NY and for essentially the vet min, thats fine by me. The guy is another top possesion guy, he isn't on cotch's level anymore but he still caught 79 passes last season. What he can do for us is be another sure-handed guy while Holmes is gone, and beyond that.

As much as I love Braylon and truly believe he has turned the mental around, and believe he is going to be stellar in his role this year, he still will drop some balls. Keller has had issues with drops in the past, not on Braylons level, but he has dropped some easy ones. Holmes actually dropped more passes last season than Braylon, granted in a lot more targets, but he has also shown he can drop some easy ones.

Nothing can be more frustrating for a young QB in the making, to do everything right and make a great pass only to have your WR drop the ball? Adding another sure handed guy like Housh to the offense (for at least the first 4 games). Anything to help boost the confidence of the young gun early on in the season works for me, especially if he comes cheap by both trade and in terms of compensation.

Housh is not a necessity, simply a luxury we would like to have. If possible, I would give up a 6 and David Clowney.

I really hope we aren't. This just doesn't make any sense at all. We are stacked at WR.

Not really. If we're not footing the bill then I suspect he'd make a good addition for the year. That said, would be tough for Sanchez to build chemistry with him at this stage of the preseason.

    I agree.
Sometimes it could be a bad thing to have too many options.

Keller is way underutilized in this offense and the fact that he is such a weapon I find that upsetting.
LT is gooing to take away some of the balls that would normally go to DK, too.

If there's anything I can knock Schotty for it's not working more plays for DK into this offense.
