117, that is a very long disortation to say simply this: We are all pissed at Revis. We all want him back, but it will take some time for that water to go under the bridge should he get his golden parachute contract.

How many players took pay cuts because of Revis already? I'll boo his ass. That is if I could afford a forkin PSL and a game ticket. Poor fuckin Derelict, can't get by one 12 mil a year. Fuck him.

    1. I don't buy everything Tannenbaum says on Hard Knocks as true -- it just puts them in a way better public light in the negotiations.

    2. If anything, it shows how broke the Jets really are.

I couldn't agree more. This is the bottom line. Anyone who doesn't see that Mevis is on the wrong side of the argument is either a Jet hater or totally delusional.

Any other player can hold out if they choose to. That's fair.

It also shows that F&S/Revis are pieces of shit -- they frontloaded the contract intentionally, that way if he was actually a really good player, he's underpaid sooner.

A deal is not going to get done this year. let him sit out this year then trade him to a shit nfl team like the rams where we can get at least a first plus other picks and with the rams you know it is going to be a top 5 pick....with not playing this year and with the lockout let revis miss out of 2 years of the prime of his career.

No it isn't. Not in the middle of a rookie contract they held out for.

If he holds the Jets Super Bowl run hostage, then sit on him until he plays out his contract.

No. It shows that the Jets will not allow a player with 3 years left on his contract to rob a franchise. They just paid Mangold, and do you think there will be no salary cap if and when the CBA gets done? .... oh shit nevermind. Stop listening to WFAN. use your own brain to look at this. If you can....

That presupposes that this clown has a brain. Hopefully he takes the next exit and leaves!

no, players get cut in accordance with their contracts. if not, you would see teams being sued left and right.

If you were Darrelle Revis, you'd want more money, too. If I was him, I'd be holding out too. If it was the last year of his contract, I'd be even more pissed at him, but three years is too many to play out given the salaries and his skill level. Sorry, not happening, rookie contract or not.

It's along the same lines of loyalty. Players don't have to and shouldn't have to remain loyal to franchises because it definitely isn't coming the other way.

I would never trade him, as a matter of principle...if for no other reason than Fuck Him...Make your move Darrelle...you can't become a free agent, you never will be able to unless you play for us, you wanna be an asshole ok, let us know when you're ready to play cause I'm not doing you any favors cause you certainly haven't done us any...

Not only does his agent look like a jerk, but they have screwed up and possibly killed Revis' career also.

Whether he returns or not, he is going to take a big part of the fall if the Jets do not winning the Super Bowl. Either by returning too late and being a distraction or not reporting and hurting the defense. While he may "get his money" he may be the least popular Jet, especially when the team will not be able to keep other good players such as David Harris.

If he doesn't report this year and there is a lock out next year, he will never be able to recoup the money he would have made by making a reasonable deal this year.

The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread (10 Days Until MNF)

They should've played baseball then. This thread is on a constant loop.

I'm surprised it hasn't been moved to the BS board.

Why would the Jets want another top 5 pick to not pay?

They have great luck lately in the back end of the first round.
