I thought that was a weird thing for them to say. I don't understand why they would need extra money if Revis returned on his original contract. If they had to pay him $40 million up from or something, then maybe, I guess, but his original contract is only for $1 million this year so why the worry?

The only thing that made sense to me was that they were hamming it up for the cameras.

that article is pretty bad. But in all seriousness, its not probably to far off to assume that point in time is nearing.

If there isn't significant ground made in the revis negotiations, one side is going to just say fuck it we're down with you and we no longer will do bussiness together.

I think those feelings will start to boil if things don't start moving along by the start of the season. But I think the breaking point would be if the Jets are winning by mid season (think 5-3, 6-2 or better) and say "Revis we love you, but we can't justify paying you immense dollars to play for us any more." Revis could then take that as a slap in the face, and decide fuck the jets, trade my ass im never playing for them again.

    what a fkn horrible article!

Can someone tell this poor excuse for a writer to find me one fkn example of a player in NFL history who got a record setting contract at his position, with 3 years left on his CURRENT deal?

    Just 1.

I mean, Peyton must have gotten it right? Brady?

So many other great players, find me 1?

    Anybody?

    Fkn moron idiots.

I am so fkn sick of Revis I don't want him on the Jets anymore, and I mean that.

Football is a team sport, not an individual sport.

Revis is not a team player, he is a greedy player out for only himself.

I hope that on Monday night lots of fans bring a lot of signs.

This piece of crap needs to know how Jets fans feel about him.

This nonsense cannot be rationalized under any circumstances. Its gone on far too long, and now I think its time to cut ties.

Jets need to let this Fkr rot, period.

"Jason Cole is an award-winning writer who covered the Miami Dolphins for 15 years at The Miami Herald and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. A member of the Pro Football Writers Association, he also has experience covering the NBA. Jason graduated from Stanford with a degree in communication."

A Phins fan and some wishful thinking on his part maybe? ;)

no kidding, it sounds like mevi$'s agents wrote the article. Whatever, I'd be perfectly happy to never see mevi$ in a jets uniform again. We can use his money to sign holmes and cromartie and then draft another cover corner with the picks we get for him.

Jason Cole is close with Revi$ agents.

  7. If Revis never reports and eventually forces a trade does he become the most hated jet in team history?

    No.

If Mevi$ never reports, and Tannenbaum allows him a trade, Tannenbaum becomes the mosted hated G.M.

Let's not forget, this is not a guy in his last year. This player is in year 4 of a six year deal.

The team has to take a stand, and say 'Brain fart is a career ending injury' and move on.

Agree with the bold. Negotiating with terrorists only encourages more terrorist acts. Take a stand. Let it be known the FO won't put up with this, regardless the caliber of player.

    Hehe... nice :p

I think if a team offers us adequate compensation for Revis he should be traded (that is if he sits out the year) but if there are no serious bidders (at least a 1st and a 2nd is needed) then yeah the Jets should take a stand.

Funny thing is since he's under contract every year he'd end up owning the Jets money :p (because of off-season fines) niiice.

Revis will report this week so that we get our Cinderella finish to Hard Knocks and turn the paradigm of the preseason around as the Jets get ready for their Cinderella season where they defy the haters and the Ciminis on their way to a Cinderella Super Bowl victory.

god damn why does that bullshit have to happen right now?
the worst part is Champ Bailey makes 13mil, and Aso 15mil. Fucking just accept something from the 10mil-14mil range.

Also we got Champ Bailey running his mouth saying Revis is the best.

Try this for fun: Click on a random page number of this thread and see what was talked about then. I clicked on page 25, looks identical to the last one.
