In Keyshawn's rookie year, early in the season, the refs took away what looked like a TD at Washington in a Sunday night national TV game. He tore his helmet off to argue (legal back then) and the first thing he did next was check to make sure his huge diamond earring was still there. It was.
Shit imagine if Phillip Merling lost his earring? The scene at home would be legendary Merling's pregnant gf: Hey baby! *Phillip knocks out his gf* Merling: I lost a goddamn earring today ugh
They just announced on the radio down here that although Langford lost an estimated $50,000+ earring, they found an un-named Dolphins double ended 36" dildo on the practice field....... Apparently one of them lost it last week.
That's nothing new for the Phins. A couple of years ago they found a 68" dildo. They ended up hiring him to be their head coach.
yeah yeah pretty embarrassing ... I guess you could call it a typical Jets practice if he lost the earring and was holding out until somebody got him a new one!!!!
Good catch. I just checked the pro football reference site and it was indeed '93. Didn't check the box but I think it was Cary Blanchard who scored the only points in that game. I remember the Keyshawn play. Feet inbounds, I believe on a fade. A horrible call by the officials. No replay, of course.
In the 3-0 game we had a ton of offensive stats but kept shitting the bed in the red zone. Pretty sure Johnny Johnson went over 100 yards.
I don't recall it being a matter of him being in bounds or not. I think it was a matter of a catch, incompletion, or interception. I think the ruling was interception by Tom Carter. It was a bad call. The Jets were trailing 24-16 at the time of the play. The game was effectively over after the blown call.
Yeah, he had a big game. The Jets did not pass the ball well that day. That was the early game that Saturday. The later game was won by Atlanta 27-24 over San Francisco. The 49ers blew a 24-7 fourth quarter lead. I'm certain the Atlanta Hawks game was on TBS that night. I think it was against the Bullets. I'll have to check. That would be the final season in which TBS televised Hawks games. I was a Hawks fan because of that reason. edit- Yeah, I had that right. The Hawks beat the Bullets that night. Plastic Man scored 27 points and Dominique Wilkins scored 31. My two favorite teams both won at Washington on that date. (When I was in high school my favorite sports were football and basketball. Before high school and after high school it was/is football and baseball.)
Maybe I'm thinking of another night game that season. I remember Key going nuts after being ruled out-of-bounds at a big moment in the game. His feet were definitely in bounds and was a big reason they lost the game.
