I don't know how one player can look at the results of the Chris Henry brain autopsy (which showed his noggin to be scrambled mush even though he didn't have a big concussion history) or see any retired player walking around on artificial hips and knees and unable to tie their own shoelaces and not demand max money the second their play on the field entitles them to it. I wan Revis to play, but I don't begrudge his holdout one second.
Dammit , Revis wasnt making peanuts, he has millions and could of had millions more if he stayed in camp. What, is he that poor at managing his money that he blown 15million (?) or w/e it is already ? Also, if something like that was to happen to him, the NFL now has a program to take care of their vets.
Sure, a big contract extension is the exact same thing as disability benefits with a life-long, debilitating injury. I'm sure there isn't a single player worried about getting injured because the NFL has that program where they heal the players' crippling knee and leg injuries by injecting the millions of dollars they would have made through their contracts but lost out on due to injury directly into their wounds.
Yes and im sure every single NFL player is aware that they play a contact sport..Revis has made millions. Lots of zeros that should set him and his family if managed well, for life. Injury or no injury.
Yes, the fact that he's made good money already clearly means that he shouldn't try to make even better money now that he deserves it. Criticize him for wanting $16 million instead of $12 million, but don't insinuate he should just be happy with what he's made so far. I'm curious how many people here, if they knew they could get a significant raise, would keep their current salary.
So why not make more money? Why stop? Seems a little antithetical to this whole business. And just out of curiosity, where should the "I'm OK with my injury because of the money I made on my rookie contract" be set?

Theres nothing wrong with him making more money, its the way that hes going about it that I dont agree with. In my opinion, I dont think he deserves to get what hes crying for. Here is a guy who is holding out on the current contract he first held out on with 3 years left on it, all because he had one phenomenal year yet, people support him. He should instead wait to the end of his contract to yet again, negotiate "mo money." Not now and this is where I stand. The JETS did not mistreat him as many people make it seem, I think they treated him and payed him well for such an ugly beginning he had. Oh and if I knew I was in the position to get a significant raise , I would still come to work while things are being discussed. Not stay a home hoping I get it while I lose thousands everyday.
