I have a feeling being able to sit in on meetings but not being able to play is only going to fuel him even more.
I'd rather stay home with my playbook and an elliptical than be on site and at meetings but unable to practice. That would be so damn frustrating.
Didnt they say on Hard Knocks Holmes cannot communicate with the coaches but he can talk to players ?
No, a stupid reporter suggested that during Rex's press conference the other day. It all came from a reporter talking out her ass - same thing with the rumor of Revis coming back last week. I swear, reporters make shit up.
I don't think that's possible, Holmes was suspended for breaking a rule that has specific guidelines for punishment.
I forget who exactly, but one of the assistant coaches said they wanted a guy who would say "give me the ball I'm going to take this fucking game over." Santonio Holmes is that guy. Right now, before a pass has been thrown, I'm lobbying for Holmes over Edwards. I really, really like what Braylon has done this off-season, but Santonio Holmes just seems like a leader.
uhh, Ben's is for conduct unbecoming & it's a 6 game suspension with the possibility of being reduced to 4. Santonio's is for drugs which has a FIXED suspension of 4 games.
This is great, but how did the CS not know about that rule or ask for clarification prior to this? Didn't Rex specifically say that he and Schottenheimer weren't allowed to speak to Holmes? He at least looked uncertain about the rules.
And why didn't they use that last year? Didn't Pace leave for 4 weeks to go train elsewhere? I read somewhere earlier today that the change that allows players to attend meetings, etc was instituted "a couple of years ago."
