Here's the retarded problem with thinking "people like you" matter.

    Its retarded.

When will most of these angry morons get it that a poster on a website has no power in these negotiations?

Stop thinking fans have a say in anything besides merchandise and ticket sales... and pro bowl voting - which they shouldn't have.

We do not give Revis power. His play does when it comes to the negotiations.

    Get over yourselves.

I think this is going to go the way of the Emmit Smith holdout.

If the jets play poorly on defense then they'll fold like a cheap accordion to get him signed.

If they play well, he might sit out half the year while he realizes he's losing leverage. The team wont have to pay him if they can win without him.

The Cowboys lost the 1st two games that year (was it 94?) and Jerry Jones blinked.

If you ruin his overblown sense of worth to the team he buys shit for then he isn't going to be able to pump his fist as hard in the clubs tomorrow night.

Says the guy selling off all his season tickets because he's afraid the Jets are going to collapse.

    EDIT: Here it is:

Right. You're a fan. Not at all concerned about money yourself.

It doesn't matter if we give him power or not, the sentiment of "just pay the man" is simply annoying. The man gets paid plenty, and had a chance to get paid plenty more. Fuck professional athletes. I like to view them as nameless mercenaries who play because they have no awareness of a world outside of football (or their respective sport). Delusional? yes! But it makes it more fun to watch for me. Its the rare guys like Martin or Chrebet who show real character that I don't mind getting behind and supporting. (not that they don't make money either, but those guys are fucking warriors)

Because he put himself before the team. While other guys are busting their ass, he is being a bitch.

    see that's the other thing.

The Jets aren't used to having this many good players on the team to the point where one holds out.

The Jets never have players hold out because they aren't good enough. Now that the have an all star team, its different.

This is nothing new in the NFL, but we as a fanbase don't know how to handle it.

This is true, but it doesn't mean I can't harbor any ill feelings toward him just because other greedy athletes do it all the time. To hell with them as well. They just don't play for the Jets so I have no concern.

Who was that wide out in Green Bay who held out and then Farve called him out on it? He came back to camp and he had a season ending injury a few days later and without his new contract.

Fuck the haters, Revis is one hit from losing his career. He should get as much money as he can while the getting is good.

Javon Walker. Favre's mouth began the career death march that Darrent Williams' murder finished. This is why no one in the locker room will/should every say anything about it that can't be taken as anything more than a joke(Bart Scott's comment with the magician last week).

I agree that you are entitled to your opinion.

I'm making the point that our opinions don't impact this situations or most of the ongoings of the NFL.
