It's obvious that Whisenhunt never liked Leinart and was unlikely to give him a shot regardless of what Leinart showed, but has Leinart shown anyone anything that they should like?

I hope the Bills get this guy. That will be an amazing cast of QB's.

agreed instant unrest at the QB position, and to top it off, leinart goes from having weapons all over arizona, to having precisely 1 and half. Rookie C.J. Spiller and WR Lee Evans. If he can't do it in AZ with their wr corps, good luck doing it in buffalo!

I don't want this waste of life anywhere near New York.

To think we nearly picked him. Look at his and Sanchez's college careers, and how highly they were both rated.

I remember when people on this site were furious that we passed on Matt Leinart to take D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

I think it was obvious to see that Leinart was never going to succeed in the NFL, by the way. He was like Ken Dorsey with Hollywood exposure--a smart decision maker, but without a great arm or quick release, and totally reliant on his weapons to make plays.

Sanchez will probably campaign for him hard to come to New York.

    A. They both went to USC.
    B. Sanchez would never have to worry about his job again. :)

Maybe... but Matt was a better QB at USC than Sanchez.

That's arguable. He had a longer resume, but he also had one of the best players to ever suit up in college playing with him in Bush. He also had Mike Williams and then Dwayne Jarrett, who were monsters at the college level.

Then we'd also have an incredibly overrated QB who has shown absolutly nothing in terms of being a pro QB. Great idea!!

They played a clip of a radio-interview of Anquan Boldin, who was asked about the situation.

I don't have the quote, but Boldin essentially said he wasn't surprised of the clash and that he isn't gonna comment more, because it's not his problem.

    interesting choice of words.

I think Jason La Canfora said that contrary to what's being reported, the Cards aren't trying to shop him.

how dare he question Adam Schefter!!!!!!

Why would Chan Gailey want this? If the Bills tank with the current crop of QB's, he's got an instant excuse to coach for next season. If he goes for Leinart and the Bills tank, he's as good as gone, well, maybe not, Jauron did last 3 1/2 seasons :(

I agree, it doesn't make sense to me why the Bills would be interested ...

If they indeed are, what does that say about Fitzpatrick?

I think the odd man out in Buffalo is Brohm.

Oakland doesn't make much sense either. They just picked up Jason Campbell. He's a nice stop gap for the next few seasons while the Raiders can look for a kid to groom out of college.

The Giants make some sense, seeing that Eli just got creamed the other night, they might want a little more insurance at QB. However, if Leinert isn't happy backing up in AZ, why would he be happy backing up in NY? I think the trade talk is a load of hooey.......

If I were Leinart, maybe San Francisco sounds like an option because of David Carr and the inconsistency of Alex Smith (though he is expected to play well this year).

Leinart is only gonna be wherever he goes for 1 year because he is scheduled to make 7.5 million next year.

I don't think he will renogotiate so that he can pick and choose a situation for next year, but maybe the smartest decision would be to stay in Arizona seeing how Derek Anderson tends to get benched which would give Leinart an opportunity ...
