I hate Revis because he clearly wants the Patriots to win the Super Bowl to throw it in the Jets face.

  3. Fortunately for us, Revis knows that if the secondary looks great, he has all the leverage in the world, and the Jets will have to meet him at $16MM/year...

    Hmmmm...

    Like I said, 12 days.

Unless you're suggesting that watching Lowery struggle as a #1 CB in the final preseason game, a position that he won't be playing regardless of Revis's presence on the roster, will be the final straw for Woody, who will fling open his checkbook and immediately give in to the demands of F&S.

I had a thought about the Revis situation today.

What if Team Revis' plan the entire time was to hold out of all of training camp to force the Jets to cave, but if they didn't, Revis would submit and sign the available deal before the season began?

I think I'd be OK with that. I really don't feel like Revis is "hurting the team" by sitting out of training camp. Sure he's not helping the team, but Michael Strahan pulled the same shit in 2007 and that season seemed to work out fine. It's not like the entire defense is going to say, "shit, Revis is back- we don't know how to play with a shutdown corner, we haven't practiced that."

If that was the plan, I'm fine with it. And I think that is the plan. Think about how much we know about Vincent Jackson's situation. It's clearer there that Jackson is either going to get traded, get paid or not play. I haven't heard language like that from Revis Camp.

So, we'll see. If the holdout lasts past Monday, then yes, Darrelle Revis is doing substantial damage to our chances of beating the Ravens, which in turn does damage to our chances of getting to the Super Bowl.

Careful. You've hit upon the logical scenario that gets you bashed in this thread.

    Its called sarcasm people

  11. And if the Jets show they have little depth behind Cromartie and Wilson, the return of Revis would be even more vital.

He's not rooting for the team to do poorly, but I sense he would like to see his absence as evident as possible.

If he misses games during the season, he will want the Jets to lose. For someone who always plays the logic card you're doing a very bad job with it here, especially with your booger response.

Let's take the emotions out of it for everyone.

    WSW wants to win money
If the Dolphins win, WSW wins money

WSW wants the Dolphins to win.

This is basic 10th grade logic, mr. logic.

The Jets know what kind of depth they have behind Revis already. It's not like Lowery and Coleman are new to the roster. And Lowery and Coleman already had poor games when they were thrust into the 1st and 2nd roles against scrubs in the Giants game. If they struggle in the last game, it won't be a shocking revelation to the FO.

The first game will be the test for the unit as a whole. Nothing that happens before that is going to change things on the side of the FO, and I don't think it even gets that far.

Yeah I agree with that... what I hope is that Rex truly shows that his is a TEAM defense... hope that works out ok.

Slightly off topic, but I never bet on the Dolphins precisely because I can't ever root for them to win.
