    ^^

He's already hurting the team, so he's basically screwing all of us.

wow, this couldn't be an easier affront to logic to dispute.

    how about this?

    grass is green.

    boogers are green.

    thus boogers are grass.

Yeah but the secondary play is what Revis would be concerned with. I doubt if he wants the team to lose. If we give up 600 yards first two wks, but still manage to win somehow, I'd think the pressure would be on the FO anyways since it won't be long before we start losing games giving up over 300 passing yards every time. However, even with Revis out, we can keep opponents under 200 yards. Its mostly the defensive scheme.

It's obviously a hypothetical situation, but him holding out into the season isn't some crazy notion at this point. That isn't the reason I'm angry with him, yet.

I'm not saying Jet fans should hate him for holding out, I'm saying it is stupid to hate him for him wanting the Jets to lose when Jet fans are the ones making that up and projecting it onto him.

    That's a pretty retarded response.

but him missing games into the season is not the same as wanting the Jets to lose, which is all I am addressing.

But at the end of the day...it's his fault.

And the truth of the matter is that everyday going forward he's hurting the team a little more in pursuit of something he hasn't earned the right to seek.

His boss offered him a merit raise in the middle of his contract.

He's holding out to be treated like a F.A.

it is completely different to hate him for holding out and hurting the team, which is reality, and hating him for something you make up and project onto him, which is fantasy. may as well hate him for being a pedophile or eating dog shit.

my argument isn't about hating Revis, it is the logic one uses to justify that hate, and when you use the latter it reveals a complete lack of logic.

They could potentially sue him for breach of contract and get a prorated portion of the bonus back. But the more likely scenario is that he agrees to a deal or that he just sits out for awhile and then agrees to a deal or convinces the jets to trade him, but a trade would require another team willing to pay him aso money which is apparently highly unlikely.

  13. Revis may not be pulling for the Jets to do poorly out of spite. But it's obvious by his actions that his first priority, and understandably so, is to his own value.

His own value is best helped by the Jets' current secondary not performing that well. That is what would be in his best interests in terms of his value to the team.

As I've already said, I thought that as well, but I now believe he doesn't hurt the team by missing the preseason nearly as much as we've all assumed. Given his position and his responsibility within the defense, his absence means less than everyone is assuming, and I think he knows that. Rex too.

Revis isn't pulling for the Jets to do poorly at all right now. He still has 12 days before he has to make that choice.

That's clearly a debatable point, especially given that all 3 guys will play man..

However for me the line was the third preseason game..

  18. Well, right now is when he is trying to boost his value. And right now, the secondary playing poorly doesn't really matter in terms of the team's overall success. All it does is increase his value.

So if there ever was a time when he would not mind seeing the secondary be less than stellar, right now would be it.
