of course they could. there is the whole conduct policy that the league has that has nothing to do with criminal behavior, simply behavior they deem unacceptable to the image of the league. this isn't new.

Not sure what you mean? Spikes was promoted as a real leader and good character guy coming into the draft. Doc Rivers even gave the guy an endorsement to the Pats. His daughter goes out with Spikes... or at least did...
