Cause he may say something that Woody & Tanny do not want him to say as well as say somethung that DR will take entirely the wrong way
I actually agree with the concept that Revis is more likely to have some latitude to make contact with Ryan than vice-versa at this point. At some point Revis is going to have to come back in to the fold and maintaining relations with Ryan is an important part of that. His agents have to be thinking about that at this point even if Revis has not gotten there yet. Even when he's seething inside because Woody and Tannenbaum "stiffed" him he's going to need to have somebody he's not conflicted about and Ryan is likely to be that guy. On the other hand it's not in the Jets interests at all at this point to have Ryan mucking around in this thing. Even if they had a good script for him to use in dealing with Revis, which is hard to imagine given the circumstances, there's absolutely no guarantee that Ryan wouldn't go off script and foul things up worse than they were before. I'd expect that the Jets have asked Ryan not to reach out to Revis at this point until things are resolved. Edit: Champ beat me to it, yes that's the main issue.
Well as judge Judy says if you did not see it yourself it cannot be accepted as fact. Is there videotape or still pix of this encounter?
that's not my reasoning at all. I said it's ridiculous to crucify Revis (no pun intended) until it actually matters.....like when the regular season starts, for example. He hasn't hurt the team by not showing up......he's not a rookie, he knows the defense. You KNOW he can step into Rex's defensive scheme and not miss a beat. Hell, Rex said that himself. So I will say it again...unless some of his team-mates are taking this holdout personally....how the fuck has he hurt the team? if there hasn't been any regular season games played yet. the uzi reference was plain retarded, WSW........you're smarter and more objective than that.
Do you honestly believe Wilson and Cromartie wouldn't gain any benefit by Revis being there? Of course it's not his job, but team mates help each other out.
uh.. great. so i guess the only revis news we will get is when hard knocks is on tomorrow.. we can all watch rex, and tanny make little jokes about revis.. then come here and speculate. i need a new bs story for some hope..right now i really am doubting he is here week 1.
I've already given a number of ways he could potentially be hurting the team. Your stance seems to be he cannot possibly hurt the team until the season starts. I disagree. The uzi statement was OBVIOUSLY used to show how silly your stance was, but you want to take it as literal. You're better than that. I'm sorry I'm not going to wash King Revis' balls. I know it really upsets you.
well...I'm not going to throw him under the bus till it's deemed necessary.....and that's if he doesn't show up for the regular season. We'll have to disagree on this one, dude. EDIT: I'm not upset...just really surprised at the stance you're taking on this.
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread Oh man, I just got an image of champ plopped down on his couch with his Rubik's Cube watching Judge Judy.
Maybe I'm just putting too much stock into Rex Ryan but I think he's smarter than that. I don't think he's gonna go into Revis' house and beg him to come back. I would think if he were to speak to Revis, he would mention the fact that this team is truly a special team and you're gonna miss out on a Super Bowl run. Just my opinion...
I honestly believe that you're blowing this entire thing WAY out of proportion. It sucks that he's not here and that he's not practicing, but you're acting like a little girl over something that none of us have any control over. Things will work themselves out. What happens for rookies that don't have elite talent on their team? A lot of them still perform at a high level because of coaching. ...because it's the coach's job to tap into that potential.
I don't know why you would be surprised. I told you in private how I was looking at the situation before hand.
Who did Revis have in camp that helped him turn into the best CB in football? Should we give Ty Law credit?
I'm going to assume that they are assuming. Or I think Golic meant to say that as like "well it hinges on them having Revis".
