Why? What would be illegal about agents giving loans to their clients until they sign long term deals?
Seriously. It would be thoughtful if they updated the title and put the page # of where you can read up on the latest update. Otherwise, I'm on board for starting new threads on any new development on the Revis saga.
It's perfectly legal for agents to advance their clients money as long as the loan is repaid at some point. It's also perfectly legal for agents to give their clients money, however above a certain limit (used to be $20k not sure what it is now) their clients owe taxes on gifts. I believe the Jets could sue S&F if they found evidence that payments to Revis were given as an inducement for Revis to break his contract with the Jets. They'd have to prove that they suffered significant harm from the broken contract and also that S&F intended to cause Revis to break the contract when they paid the inducement.
As long as Revis knows the plays, it might be true. He might have helped the defense by getting Wilson more reps and Cromartie more as a #1. Revis works on his own island basically, haha, so if he can take care of his guy the defense should not miss a beat.
I just got some info. that Revis was just spotted in Mobile, Alabama. They released the following amateur sketch: A man who claimed to be Revis's biological father was asked to comment on his son's contract holdout and simply proclaimed - "I wanna know where da gold at" Seems like another bizarre twist in this strange tale of deception.
What's the deal with the thread title? "Update: Rex Seen at Revis' Door (allegedly)" Where's this coming from?
Did jetsmets put you up to this? Can we stop trusting posters with shit like this? I read the update and thought it came from a legitimate source.
Their is no way for a fan to quantify exactly how much damage has already been done to the Jets season but here are some things I can think of that holding out this far. 1) Wilson doesn't have as much experience at his slotted position of NB as he should. That will be especially important week 2 against Welker/Edleman. 2) Revis has no practice, and possibly no knowledge of new defensive schemes. 3) Wilson and Cromartie do not have Revis to lean on for help learning the defense. 4) If Revis comes back he probably won't be in football shape causing him to miss some plays. On an island by himself he should be fine, but there's more to it than that IMO.
As an aside, my buddy's boss was very close to buying that actual sketch in an auction, just for sh*ts and giggles. I think it got too expensive though.
According to Leonhard, Cro knew the defense when he showed up for OTA's Now, one could call that talking him up, but his play backs up the assertion. As for Wilson, he looks more like (blasphemy disclaimer) Revis now, than Revis did when he came out. Those two will be fine. What sucks is how out of this world it could be with three.
I find this to be highly doubtful since Woody & Tanny put the clamps on Rex talking about or seeing DR. Maybe this meeting occurred LAST year & your friendly NYG fan forgot to mention that
Last week I added a comment on Revis Facebook page about how if Kyle Wilson does a great job in week one, Revis will lose all his leverage. I added a few other comments with that, nothing insulting. Today, I got a personal message from Diana Gilbert of Alquippa PA. I assume she's a relative of Sean Gilbert. She called me a "lintlicker" whatever the fuck that is, and said I was nobody and keep on running my mouth. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Just a guess, my message must have gotten through, and Gilbert's people don't want him listening to it.
Your friend told you this yesterday and you waited until an hour ago to post it? Dick.
