I have high hopes for LT. Did you see him on the sideline smiling ear to ear? That looks to me like he's ready to go.

Most of LT's yardage is off that one big run he ripped off. It's preseason, too. All that being said, I do believe a lot of folks under appreciate the need for a solid OL in helping runners... especially aging runners. LT combined with a workhorse like Greene is going to be a good combo for us this year.

Funny, they like to take away the long runs when evaluating just like people used to do with TJ here.

the best part is that they took away the 43 yard run and still had to have it pointed out that he averaged 4 yards per carry anyway.

If you want to eliminate the long runs, which is silly IMO, you have to eliminate an equal number of the worst runs to get a valid stat.

Well that would make sense but that would mean that people would have to admit being wrong. I saw another post in there that said our O-line had nothing on the Chargers O-line. It seems to be that Chargers fans discussing LT is like us discussing Gholston. There will always be a good amount of people who will not want to acknowledge the truth of a situation.

If you take away the long runs, Barry Sanders had a pretty shitty career.

Lol the elite RB's that avg 5 ypc don't run 5 yds and say," oh crap" and lay down. The majority of the time they run 2-3-4 yds and then rip one a big one. You can not take away big runs it just doesn't work like that.

The principal behind a solid run game is to wear the other team down. I know you know that but it does escape the knuckleheads on that board.

I thought the best part was that they thought the Redskins are the worst team in football, even though many would consider them a wild card contender, and dare I say have a realistic shot @ winning the division.

Plus I mean they were only a top 10 defense last year

Yea I was really confused about that one... What are they looking at to think that? It really doesn't make any sense.

First of all he worked those two runs, second of all he's making people miss which doesn't have to do with the OL.

My favorite quote of the SD forum is this one.
Heck, if you take away the last two games the Jets played they wouldn't have played in the playoffs. If you took away the last 5 games of the Saint they never would have won the Superbowl.

    SD fans=stupid

Yeah but if you take that 12 second one away you avg only about 2.5 seconds. Your lucky it's preseason.

This thread is great man, i've been checking this board out since the playoffs with the chargers last year and especially since the LT trade, i grew up watching LT rip it up and he is still one of my favorite players, plus i've always liked the Jets so i figure id toss up a post here. There is so much LT hate on the charger board when this guy put our team on his back in a serious way and carried it for atleast 5 years. no respect man, LT got done reallly dirty in my opinion but im glad to see him end up at a place where hes getting the respect he deserves and you can see it on the field that he really wants to make this team proud like he did in san diego when things were good. Happy to see LT having a good preseason so far in NY, oh yea and gotta give a big heads up to that Sheli manning beating, the best part was when he got down on his knee after the hit not knowing what was going on and then came back up waving for the team staff lol! good luck in the season guys! should be a good one for you guys.

I just read the first page and stopped at this post:

Take away 20% of Tomlinson's best plays and he rushed for about 700 yards a season his entire career.

Can't wait to see LT show his stuff during regular season. He kinda looks like Leon with some of his moves I think he will be a good contributor.

Even then, a zero yard rush doesn't affect the YPC as much as taking out 50% of yards on two carries.

If Tomlinson had one 43 yards carry and other 10 carries were all less than 5 yards each, then a case could be made. But when u want to take out two big runs on a day when Tomlinson found a few holes, its not a good evaluation. Its the pre season anyways. One of them should've pointed that out.

Tomlinson is the real deal and has enough to rush for another 1000 yards this season if something was to happen to Greene.
