Maybe this is the reason why the Jets cut Coles. His salary would have been guaranteed if he stayed on the roster for the first week of the season. Now they can use this money on A.Thomas.
speculation is that the Jets will wait til after week 1 to sign Adalius Thomas, because they dont want to pay the full year salary.
I understand that. I'm speculating that this is the reason why they released Coles. They would have had to pay Coles' full year salary if he played week one. This frees up a veteran minimum salary which could get Thomas here before week 1. Just an idea.
Iam pretty sure they released Coles because he sucks. All the years of catching floaters and age have caught up to him.
yeah he fucking sucks. i dont see a point of Coles playing. I'd rather Brad Smith be our 3rd wr for 4 games.
Smith may not be the greatest pure WR. He is a weapon in other ways, as I am sure you are well aware. His versatility is a guarantee of a roster spot. I totally agree.
yup. LT, and Brad Smith on the field though at the same time. They should add some trickery. I think Coles is extremely shot, and cant see any yac with him. Brad Smith I do see that.
Jets Related Twitter Posts Per Rich Cimini "#Jets S Brodney Pool (ankle) didn't practice. Won't play Thurs night. Status for opener up in the air." This is just getting ridiculous.
Wow, that sucks. Concussions as in multiple, or just one that is preventing him from playing right now? I wonder if they offer him a practice squad spot?
I think Eric Smith will do fine as a spot starter. But yea, the injuries, they are starting to add up.
