I understand there's a massive Revis thread with a boatload of opinions and whatnot.....but i decided to put a poll together.....just to get a visual on what people think. Although I'm slightly frustrated with the lack of a resolution so far.....I won't consider the sky to be falling till week 1 rolls around. As far as i'm concerned, Revis not participating in these preseason games just means he'll avoid needless injuries.....he knows the defense, and is more than capable of stepping in right away, IMO. Hypothetically, if the Revis holdout is still stuck in a stalemate by week 1...what should the Jets do?
The Jets should tell Revis that all of the offers come off of the table if it's Week 1 and Revis is not on the team. He can either sit out the year or come play for $1 million after that.
Let him at out all three years if he has to. I'd make a point NOT to trade him and make him sit if he keeps pulling this stuff. He had one amazing year. That's all. He's too greedy. Let's get playing football.

You didn't make it entirely clear, but I assumed "Hold their Ground" meant the offer already made, so it was my choice. There should have been a choice for "Force him to play for his original contract". I know a few people will choose that.
It is what it is, the man has been offered a more then fair deal, to go beyond what has been offfered will break the Jets. It will also open a pandor's box of, well you guys paid Mevis, why not us. No, he takes what is on the table by the start of the season or he plays out the million dollar year, or sits out and pays his fines and collects nothing. The Jets will have to do the best they can without him, as painful as that might be.
They need to hold their ground. No player should be able to hold out with three years left on a contract he held out for and get a record breaking deal like 160/10. Even 120/10 is outrageous for a CB IMO.
At this point if I'm Tannenbaum, I send S&F a final offer of 12.5/year with $40 million guaranteed (with language to payback if any further holdouts occur) and tell them to get Revis in camp, or we can talk the next time the NFL plays a season and there's no more r'tard Aso contract out there.
Absolutely. Revis is a great CB, but the defense has been strong with Cromartie and Wilson lining up at the CB positions. The Jets need to hold their ground and make sure that the long-term health of the franchise remains intact rather than caving to Revis' demands and going for broke this year at the expense of the future.
The Jets really should have had nearly ALL of the leverage in this case: 1) There is a lockout looming, and the new salary cap and rules appear more likely to harm Revis's earning capacity than to help it. 2) He has 3 years remaining on his contract. Revis's leverage consists of: 1) Hai guys, I'm pretty, pretty, pretty good. If they've lost leverage, it's because of silly promises made or silly things said/done. I don't pretend to know the extent of the occurrence of any of those things, but it's looking like the Jets did a botched job here. And/or Revis [and his advisors/agents/etc.) is completely insane/irrational. In the interest of directly acknowledging the intent of the thread: I love WhiteShoeWillie's idea: make a final offer and set a date at which the offer is no longer going to be on the table. Shit or get off the pot, Mr. Revis and Co.
