I make of it that Revis is being a dick with his demands. I can't say I disagree. If he DIDN'T want $160 million, there was plenty of opportunity for his team to refute it before this stupid media blackout. They've had no problem letting VJax run his mouth in the past few days. Why did they want to keep Darrelle quiet? Because they know his present demands are outrageous.
Exactly. That's why I still think he'll be here by Week 1. His agents are dicks and want to fuck with the front office, but I don't think they're stupid enough to sit him for a season.
What is with all the Revis hate? IF he comes back, you are actually going to boo? or throw garbage? If you have been watching hard knocks, his name has been mentioned a million times by coaches and teammates (Bart Scott said, "Can he make revis appear" when they had the magic show at camp). His decision affects the 2010 season more than anything. I think rex and most of the defense understand that without revis, they are no where near the #1 unit they were last year. yes we added cromartie and wilson but cromartie is vulnerable and wilson is a rookie. We need Revis back immediately and hopefully by week 1...and at the week 1 game, all of us fans should be giving him a standing ovation because we are not a playoff team without revis and the below average offense we have...having revis limits opponents by at least 2 touchdowns...
If the coaching staff strongly believed they would be going into the season without Revis, I highly doubt they'd be giving Wilson nearly all of his time at nickle, in the last real dress rehearsal before the regular season. It's about as tell tale sign that they know (or strongly believe) Revis will be back for game 1, as anything we've witnessed/heard, imo.

I'd never boo Revis but I will never see him in the same light again. I think he deserves to get paid but I believe his demands are purely selfish and the same way I hold Mangold in higher regard for the way he handled himself in his contract situation I lost a lot of love for MEvis for the way he's playing this thing out. Say whatever you want to say, he still has 3 years left on his contract.

Yes, it may be him being selfish, but I think this has being going the way it has is because Revis knows his value to the team. Lets be honest, we need Revis, more than he needs us. Jets staff and other NFL affiliates have called him the best CB in the league (and its true) so that in itself probably gave him the idea to look for a new contract assuming now is the time to get the most possible money he can. But I believe if you are the best at something, you should be compensated more than the competition. If this was lets say Lito Sheppard (who we all know SUCKS) then thats being selfish, but revis has proven himself and deserves it

that's just f'ing asinine. no, the Jets don't need him, they would prefer to have him. explain how the Jets, who can replace his talent, albeit maybe not equally, and could still possibly win, need him more than he needs us when he can't replace the paycheck he gets with anything? either he plays for the Jets or doesn't play or get paid. explain how that is a position of power? just dumb. only thing Revis has proven is that he deserves to be paid more than he was scheduled to be paid, not how much he is asking for. huge difference between the two. and the Jets need him a lot less if at that ridiculous price than he needs to Jets at no paycheck unless he plans on starting a different career.
