Who honestly cares? im really not worried. Look at how other teams are playing? The Patriots defense got raped by Sam Bradford. Chad Henne looked terrible last night. I mean I can go on but who gives a shit? I wouldnt even start feeling concerned about this until it pours over into the regular season. Let Sanchez try to throw into double coverage, let him test his skills. Let him get the kinks out now.
Junc, the Jets avg 22 pts a game last year and were ranked 31st in the league, so in reality they will not win many games. I don't want to discuss the offensive scheme this early in the season but MS looks very comfortable when there are 3 receivers or less in the formation, when the jets go into 4 and 5 receiver sets he looks overwhelmed. You guy's know how I feel about BS and this offensive scheme, but I'm willing to give him some time. I agree with everything else you said.
The Colts are sporting a 4-20 preseason record dating back to 2005......the preseason is meaningless.
I think we needa calm a little. Sanchez went 13-21 for 139 yard. We ran for 189 yard in 3 quarters. I think why people are so upset is because we didn't have that methodical drive. That happens tho. Yes I know he threw a pick but he did throw for 65%. Im not worried.
I thought the most dissapointing aspect of the game was zero push from the defensive line on passing downs. Taylor might be finished, seriously, he made no plays the whole pre-season. If only get pressure when we blitz, we are in trouble, especially without you know who
He ended up having an OK game after he threw the pic. Its preseason tho, most guys are rusty and this was like his actual first full game and it wasn't terrible. Greene and Tomlinson are going to be our guys to lean on this year for offense, Sanchez will get more fine tuned as the season goes, as with everyone else
Yes, the preseason is meaningless as far as wins and losses are concerned. But what disturbs me is the lack of fundamentals by this team. LT was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise anemic offense that can't put points on the board. Sanchez continues to throw horrible picks. He looks as lost as he was for most of last year. Poor coverage by the D. Johnson muscled his way to that TD (okay, against "3's", but still). I sat in the stands last night thinking that this team is not ready for opening night. If the Jets play scrubs in week #4 of the preseason, how do our "1's" get ready to face Baltimore? And New England? And about Mark Brunell...if the Jets want him to mentor, hire him as a QB coach. He can't get anything done as even a backup to Sanchez. Opportunity has never looked this shitty!
I'm not happy about the outcome either....but guys, it's preseason....this is the time for the veteran players to work off the rust and for new players to be evaluated. I'm not making excuses...that's fact. Let's worry about the games that matter.....and hope the starters don't suffer any more injuries a la C.Pace.
People really need to stop saying that. In all of those Preseason games Manning and the first team offense looked solid and scored points. It's the 3rd stringers that lose it for them. Our first team passing offense looks pitiful. That's something to be concerned about.
We threw for 139 yards in 3 quarters. Its not killer, but its not bad either. If Cotchery had caught that ball in the endzone, I bet most of us wouldn't be spazzing out.
Maybe I'm not remembering correctly but that throw wasn't great. It was a lil behind him and the CB easily made a play on it. Cotch ran a good route but the pass wasn't on target
It was actually worse last year. The defense was ugly, the team was wildly undisciplined and the O sucked. The Jets were learning a new system and were simply awful. There are tons and tons of examples of the preseason not meaning shit either way. Be it the Lions going from a 4-0 preseason to 0-16, all the way to the Colts. The defense and special teams look much better than this time last year. The running game has looked excellent. The Jets have to work on the passing game. Really did anyone following this team expect anything else?
Or maybe we need to remind ourselves that these other players on the other side of the ball (washington D, Bradford) are on scholarship too, and can make plays .. it's never as bad as it seems, nor neither as good .. the truth pretty much is in the middle ..
Sanchez look like hot garbage but i'll chalk that up to <---- but anyways i'm not too concerned. The only concern i have is with the oline. That's the reason why Sanchez was so hurried yesterday.
