i love revis. he makes changes our defense from a good D to a great D. but saying that no CORNER alone is worth 15-16 million. i would rather have him sit out and use that money to sign the combo of edwards/holmes/cromartie/harris. i am also anti trading revis. why let him come back to haunt us. just let him sit out and force him to either play for his current contract or accept one of the deals we have on the table
Dude, I posted this about three times on the MEVI$ thread. Make Revis play out his deal or retire.Lost in this is that he can't go anywhere for 3 years. Take that 15 a year, and sign Cro,Holmes and Edwards.
yeah Moderators should make an announcement, if peoples b posting shit without a link it'll be deleted. then they b warned, and 2nd time they b banned.
Does anybody have a link to the highest paid DE's, and OLB's in the NFL? Or highest paid defensive players?
first time poster, just signed up yesterday but i have been a long time reader. Somebody needs to find this guys agent and beat the SHIT out of the 2 of em....Top defensive player in the game but jesus christ what hes asking for will cripple the team....With all that being said, hell be in by the time week 1 comes around(i hope) they didnt make all these moves to only have their best player not play.:jets:
Well, the latest Revis-Jets update is coming up in a few minutes on ESPN. I'm sure Dr. Death will be giving it so you can all see what he has to say then.
fuck em all! I bury those cock-a-roaches. When the holdout first happened I didn't expect him back until sometime either right before, or just after the third pre-season game. I'm not still going to be in panic mode until they suit up against the Eagles and he isn't signed yet.
He'll say nothing has happened, because nothing has happened. I think we all need to accept that there was/is no truth to any reports(Cowlishaw, Fanhouse) since Sunday.
Actually, he has already admitted that the meeting he said was happening never took place. His information was completely incorrect. I am not suggesting he made it up, but the info he was given is not true.
It's looking more and more like Cowlishaw caught wind of the Mangold deal and ran with it without doing more checking.
Here is Cowlishaw's back peddling update. http://timcowlishawblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/08/revis-news-life-on-cowlishaw-i.html
I call B/S. 4 years 40 mil? Are they tearing up his current deal? Those numbers don't work. They offered to make him the highest paid CB. 10 mil per doesn't get you there. (no S/B?) The only way thats doable is essentially a one year 20 mil extension. Which at 10 SB (gives him 11 this year), one extra year at 10, gets you to 40 over 4, but that makes good sense for the Jets...but if they do that they're being fair to the player.
I doubt he would be so adamant the fact that it wasn't Mangold if he wasn't sure his source knew it was Revis.
I thought that was a very mature response. Kind of have to respect the guy for this, right or wrong. Still looks positive on the Revis front according to him too, but who knows anymore.
idk if any of these guys know anything.....if i learned anything from the mebron james fiasco its to not listen to these "inside sources"
I keep seeing this and it makes no sense. Not that I want him traded but if it unfortunately came down to that what is best for the Jets? Let him sit and they get satisfaction from him losing everything he had? I doubt they would get much satisfaction from that. Or Trade him for possibly two 1st round picks and maybe a player. I think the Jets like this option better if it came down to it.
