I think there is middle ground, though. My current best guess is Revis shows up for camp without a deal by thursday. Then Graziano/Cowlishaw would only be wrong about the mega contract extension and could still say they were right about the holdout itself ending.

I disagree....Cowlishaw/Graziano specifically reported that there was a deal on the table that Revis WILL sign.

they can try to spin whichever way they want....there's no middle ground here, imo.

yeah, you're probably right. I just think it could only help them if Revis shows up regardless of a new deal. That way they could at least spin it as there being "something" to their story. But you're right they would have obviously been wrong.

Yes, Agents forward and loan players money all the time. Where do you think young undrafted guys who have declaired (and many like bush who have not) get the money for all the bling they wear to the draft?

It's possible that both the Jets and Revis could have agreed to a deal that the league rejected.

I'm sure LaCanfora or some other NFL source would've been all over that....if that was the case.

The Jets FO and the Revis camp can implement a gag order on themselves.....but not the NFL....i think we would've heard something if that happened.

Lebron's mom took out a loan at a bank against her son's future earnings, and he was only in high school. I assume football players who have already proven themself and are clearly in line for big contracts can do the same.

Just like with Kovalchuk and the NHL? Its all a big conspiracy to prevent teams from circumventing the cap.

Maybe Kovy and Revis should hang out and talk about how greedy they are

Guys, contracts need to be filed to the NFL for approval, so there's no way he already signed without us hearing about something. They may have only agreed to the terms though.

Anyone notice that if #24 signs by midnight he will be returning on the 24th day of his holdout. Would be even weirder if the contract was for 124 mill with 24 mill gauranteed.

Curse you for even saying this  I've already had enough contract bs between the Kovalchuk fiasco and this.

I noticed it the first 240 times it was pointed out on this message board. I stabbed myself in the eye with a fork 24000 times in response.

Haha, not exactly. Believe me, I hope that the deal gets done ASAP, I just am not buying what only one guy is selling vs. 100. Hope I am wrong though
