IMO Jason Taylor had that reputation in my book, until he joined the team, no player would run his mouth more then JT, now that Tom Brady is running his mouth on common sense shit, something he should of probably kept to himself, he's absolutely the #1 public enemy. We do need to start beating them on a constant basis though, hopefully that starts this season, it's the first time in a while that I think we have a legit chance at sweeping them if we execute our game, and go after the weak spot in their offensive line (LG) I hate the Patriots man, but starting last year week 2, this rivalry has entered a new chapter, we can stop Moss all we need is an answer for Welker, hopefully Revis comes back and Wilson can try and slow him down in the slot. We finally have the weapons to take these fuckers down, not for good but for a few seasons while they re-load on defense, and by that time comes around Brady will be on the wrong side of 30 and Sanchez will hopefully be playing at a Pro Bowl level
Marino's just upset because he's won exactly as many Super Bowl rings as the Jets have over the past 40 years. The fact that the Jets are pissing off the Pats makes me happy, because it shows that we are under their skin. This is exactly how we beat them at the Meadowlands last season.
The thing with Taylor is, as much as a tool as he's always been towards Jet fans, on the field we've beaten his team and made him cry most of his career. Brady on the other hand, has been in our way since he came on the scene thanks to us in 2001. The years we had a decent team with Chad, Brady was always in our way, we only won the one division and made a couple playoff runs the hard way. Even last year we had to go on the road for three games and try to reach the Super Bowl the hard way because New England again won the division. So to me, until we win the division and pass them, Brady and Belichick are the #1 menace. I don't care what is said off the field, I care what happens on it.
Absolutely agree, the only reason I brought up JT is because of his image towards the fans and the hatred they had towards him, even though we made his career a living hell. When it comes to the team in itself the Patriots are hands down the team were looking up on and trying to bring down ... I do agree that the Patriots were always in the way, but you also have to look at teams like the Raiders that we lost to twice in the playoffs between 2000 and 2002, who knows what would of happened if we played the Pats in the Divisional playoffs in 01, or have beaten the Raiders in 02. Regardless of it all, they have been a menace to us.
You really think the Jets are pissing the Pats off? Not likely. Just motivating them. The Pats and BB love that the Jets are hogging the limelight. They've thrived when they're being overlooked.
Yeah, the Raiders were the roadblock for those couple of years. Of course in 2001 had we held off the Pats for the AFC East we'd have gotten them at home in the snow after a bye week, rather than making consecutive trips out to Oakland. In 2002 the Pats were a non-factor and the Raiders were just a better team. If they hadn't run up against their own ex-coach in the Super Bowl they'd probably have won it. I think they were the best team that year, just bad luck getting Gruden in that game.
Most of the national media are on the Jets or Phins wagon this year. On paper, they're probably correct. But the NFL rarely goes the way everyone thinks it will.
I am very excited to play the Pasts. No more Warren, no more Jarvis Green, one dimensional outside linebackers, no Nick Kaczur, no Logan Mankins(he's holding out on his "self sufficient ranch"). Brady is still excellent, but they won't be able to pound it on the ground or stop us from pounding it. It's going to be a great year. -X-
Brady is still great, but the Giants showed even before the injury that if you get in his face you'll mess him up like any other QB. Rex knows this, so I'm confident in that, we'll see what happens.
Unfortunately they still have the Jet Killer Kevin Faulk... I hate that guy because he always seems to have his two biggest games of the year when they play us.
why do i equate "Tom Brady" with the word GAY.......i just saw the title of the thread and said "gay" in front of my secretary and then apologized
Not sure if this is old, but this was on ESPN. Sanchez Answers Brady's 'Knock' With A Kiss Tom Brady might hate the Jets, but Mark Sanchez claims to feel the exact opposite about the Patriots and their star QB. Sanchez refused to take the bait yesterday when asked if the sentiment was mutual after Brady told a Boston radio station Monday of his hatred for the Jets. Sanchez laughed, claiming the question was "a setup," then proceeded to shower Brady and Gang Green's bitter AFC East rival with praise. "No, I love the Patriots," Sanchez said, smiling. "I love Tom." Sanchez then turned and stared directly into a TV camera in front of him and added: "I love you, Tom."
