I don't think that's a fair criticism. What is there for Revis to say at this point? He wants to get paid, the Jets don't want to pay him what he wants. I think that silence is the best PR move for him at this point. If you think silence is annoying, imagine if he was acting like T.O. and constantly ripping the team through the press? That would be far, far worse.
The Revis camp wants the Lebron type hysteria and confusion. Cause you know, Revis is an athletic god too and everyone should care about that a lot. lol
I still can't believe he said if anything happens with Revis it'll be purely coincidental to Cowlishaw's report....wat a dick
Honestly, if I hear he signs, I'll check my phone for the contract details. If it's 10yr-150M deal, I'd let those around me know and voice my displeasure. Then as the game is coming back from commercial, I'll return to spectating.
Well, if he spoke he wouldn't be saying T.O. things because we know he's not that type of guy - never has been. He's gone completely Twitter silent for a month after posting multiple times daily. He's doing this for effect, not to avoid saying something harmful. Lebron was the same way - the people around him convinced him that going completely silent was the way to drive interest, regardless of if that interest was positively or negatively grounded. He isn't just not saying things with regards to his contract, he's gone completely dark in the same way that Lebron did, and it's a very clear tactical move. Someone got into his head and gassed him up that this was the best way. Agents, uncle, whomever. I just personally find it very callous and self-centered, which are things that I never would have associated with Revis in the past - not even remotely. And with regards to the question of what I'd do if he signed today: I'd be ecstatic. He's a great player and helps my favorite team immensely to win football games. I just hate what this has done to my perception of him as a personality, which was a good portion of why I liked following him so much.
oh, my bad. I didn't actually take the time to READ it and COMPREHEND it. The absurdity of it all is getting to my fragile mind.
"Bob Papa, who works for HBO, said his sources tell him nothing going on w/ Revis tonight on Hard Knocks." This is the least convinvcing statemenet so far. Revis will be on HK tonight for one reason or another, no doubt in my mind.
Again though, what kind of stuff would you want Revis to be saying? The holdout is a huge story, and it would overshadow anything that Revis says, does, or tweets. There's no way for him to have a media presence without getting constantly bombarded with questions about his status, and that would inevitably lead to him saying something he regrets. I'm fine with silence.
