That has nothing to do with signing bonuses not counting against a future cap. All it does is say that when a contract is signed in an uncapped year the signing bonus doesn't need to take into account previous salary.
Yeah everyones "source" is saying different things and some the same. This is the strangest contract negotiation ever.
I hope SOMETHING of note happens today.....and my gut tells me it'll happen on Hard Knocks. Of course Greenberg is going to deny anything will happen....i expected that. When this situation finally concludes....someone will have egg on their face....whether it's Schefter, the NY beat writers, Cowlishaw, Graziano.....take your pick.
I didn't say that guaranteed money doesn't count towards future cap, only since it's an uncapped year there's nothing stopping a team from paying out an entire contract in a signing bonus this year. That's what the clause is stating.
What are we arguing for then? I was talking about future cap pro-rating this entire time. :breakdance:
CLASSIC! Although this is all crazy, I'm so HAPPY to be listening to football talk on NY radio for the majority of the day instead of baseball!
Cimini just got interviewed on Sportscenter. Anyone else hear it? He basically shot down all of the Revis excitement and claims that his sources say Revis won't be on Hard Knocks tonight. He says the two sides are still far apart on agreeing to a new deal and says the only realistic thing that may happen is Revis deciding to end his hold out and be with his team without a new, blockbuster deal.
