If for some insane reason Revis is traded at least it will be exciting as hell.

No. No, it wouldn't be exciting. It wouldn't be exciting at all.

Its not emotional at all. Letting him sit out and retaining the rights to him is much smarter than giving him away. We can revisit the issue with him at a later date after he has had several months of not getting paid. It makes the most sense to retain all rights over him.

It if funny how all of the beat reporters for the Jets, including the Great Manish, are reporting one thing and ESPN, AOL and some writer in Texas are reporting another.

ESPN lost any credibility they had left when they had that douche from the Sanchez draft on as the "no. 2 Jets fan."

Tannenbaum wouldn't just give up Revis. If, and it's the biggest of ifs, he was traded, we'd get plenty of value for him. That said, he won't be traded.

ESPN lost most of their credibility about 10 years ago.

How bout we move off the Revis to Dallas rumors...

My best guess on this whole situation is that the Jets informed Revis they have given him the best offer he is going to get, and after sitting on it for awhile Revis or his team have decided it's time to accept the offer (10 years, 120 million... possibly more with some crazy numbers tacked on the end so the agents don't look like assholes for getting him to hold out for little reason), work on getting him some impressive guarantees, then turn to working on rehabilitating his image.

The best way to improve his image is to give him a positive story going into Hard Knocks, as well as have him around for the last two preseason games... basically the right amount of time to have him back at game speed and in game shape as well as properly integrate him back into the defense for week 1 against Baltimore.

This scenario is all predicated on Cowlishaw knowing what the hell he's talking about, but this does seem like the right week for Revis to finally make his appearance.

The longer he sits out the more his value drops and skills diminish. Trust me keeping him would be the only option IMO. But if he or any players comes out and says i am not signing with your team ever then you trade him and get max value.

    Sure, but you said

You said sit for years and not get paid. It seemed spiteful. I pointed out that no GM would ever let a guy sit more than a year without trading him. It just wouldn't happen. Sitting for several months and re-signing him the next year is a hell of a lot different. Of course, then you end up with the whole business all over again.

Personally? I don't see any way that he even sits this year. I can't imagine him being that stupid at the top of his position, which makes this all irrelevant. He's in an entirely different situation than his uncle was. However, if he were going to sit for the full year and Tanny could get solid value, I could absolutely see the argument for trading him.

Actually Mr. T has already stated that he would not be traded. Which is the correct position. There is no reason to trade him for anything less than equivalent value and there is nobody that is going to offer equivalent value to us. How many teams are sitting there ready to trade us the equivalent of the best CB in the NFL just so they can turn around and pay Mevi$ 160M?

trading him for lesser value is moronic. Much smarter to simply retain him and if he chooses to continue to hold out and breach his own contract - c'est la vie. He can choose to not get paid.

Revis could be the replacement. The original Ceiling Cat died earlier this year. It was poked in the eye while spying on Gheorghe Muresan. Less than a half hour later, a dazed Ceiling Cat wandered into traffic and was run over by a car.

What makes you think that is Saskatchewan?

It is Pittsburgh. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is clearly visible in the photo.
