Yea, Rex doesn't have a say in the deals that are given to players. So I could totally see Woody Johnson saying you can't release any information of the deal until a set time. Build the emotion of Revis coming back. Spin him into a good light for the team and Revis so they both look good. Then BAM! "We have Revis back, a superbowl is a guarantee. Get your PSL now before they are all gone!"
Agreed, there is DEFINITELY something going on if Revis is doing a TV interview for the first time in months. What does it mean? I think it'd be a cool time for all the nonsense posts to slow down now so we can focus on actual Revis talk. Its been fun but there is actual stuff to discuss for the first time in quite a while. Come on everybody. Let's represent theganggreen.com with our brilliant analysis of the clues.
Why, because of all the contradictory reports? I would agree that if he does sign tonight, they will save the announcement for tomorrow. This will of course shoot up ratings for Hard Knocks. It's too good a show to pass up, and those Jets love to give a show. I'm inclined to think he is signing, and the TV interview he did today (to air tomorrow) gives a lot of hope to this little theory.
I don't think he'd tape a TV interview if he was getting the high deal. I think that would be rubbing the Jets face in it after the long holdout. There'd also be the danger that something happened to the deal before he got it signed and he's stuck on tape crowing about his record deal that never happened.
Heard the guys on ESPN radio talking that he's gonna be signed by thursday then Total Access says nothings imminent. I don't know what the hell to believe?????????????????????????
If it is a signing interview, I doubt they discuss details. He would likely just talk about how happy he is to get back to playing.
i agree with you that it wouldnt make sense for the 16 mil contract but i think he came down to 12 mil if he did an interview.
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread (4AM Email - Revis in by Thursday?) All local reporters are now denying this meeting. All local reporters had no clue about any of this in the first place. It's pretty obvious they aren't talking to the beat writers, so until Coleslaw refutes his report I'm on board with the idea.
If local reporters are denying its going to happen, it means its going to happen. Biggest clue yet. (Because they're clueless)
Either there's actual movement on the deal or somebody is running a scheme at this point to get the story cooking again. I have a hard time believing that Cowlishaw would be in on a scheme so it's got to be movement on a deal, unless Cowlishaw is a patsy somehow.
today koz got me good.he texted me revis signs.... then 2 minutes later as i franticly checked all the websites,he texted me again an autograph for someone, somewhere today
