No fucking way its pretty obvious that Rex and the teams swagger doesnt come from wanting attention it comes from their play on the field. I seriously doubt...hell its impossible to think that Rex and Tanny would make the deal based on the Hard Knocks schedual
I think it's totally possible that while Rex and Tanny might not do something like that, that Woody Johnson would do it in a split second.
I'm hoping I'm wrong honestly. I'd love nothing more to know that I am wrong. But honestly is any of this speculation really credible? There's reports all over the place going both ways with this matter and it's hard to judge who to believe. So I'll just wait it out and see what happens without getting my hopes up.
Something is happening if Revis is going on the air because that inevitably will break the news blackout on his contract negotiations. I'm leaning that he's decided to take the 12 mill a year (approximately) offer, because it's absolutely insane to leave that amount of money on the table when nobody knows what the NFL financial structure is going to look like in a year. The Jets moving forward with Mangold makes the most sense in that light, since they had to take care of the guy who honored his contract if they're going to give a huge deal to the guy who didn't, even if it's not the deal he really wanted.
Exactly.. Woody can't see the Jets in the headlines enough. If the deal were done between now and 10pm tomorrow, I really don't think Woody would have any problem at all pushing off the announcement just to build suspense. It's not like he'd not sign Revis for another week or tell them to wait until the day before opening night.. just a few hours until Hard Knocks airs.
I really wonder what the deal with that tv interview is...Cowlishaw said he's trying to find out what's on it but he hasn't updated in a while.
Not getting my hopes up. They were so far apart it's gonna take a couple dominating defensive performances during the reg season to bring him down (closer) to Earth. Once it's shown we can play great D without him his leverage will begin to erode; if we struggle without him it could get uglier.
