If that's the case blame Jets' management. It's not a player's responsibility to ensure the financial viability of the team.
He never made that point. He said if we didn't win it all this season, people would hate Revis. We never even discussed the financial parameters. In fact, there's no way for his contract to weight the Jets down this season.
i feel the exact opposite way... i think there has to be something to the story... tc wouldn't stake his reputation on a hint from out of left field... i think it has to be legit.
Every report that has come out regarding what their side is demanding has revolved around a contract that would pay an average of $16 million per season or at the very least more than the $15 mil per that Asomugha received. The most recent report prior to the media blackout suggested that Revis and the Jets were $40 million apart, with the Jets having offered a $120 million contract. That may have changed since, but the main reason why the contract talks have been at a standstill is because Revis and his camp have been reluctant to soften their stance of demanding a contract with a higher average salary than Asomugha's deal.
Revismember the good times: Remember when Revis had his first pick 6 against Arizona? Maybe the easiest looking pick 6 ever.
I want to know why no team mate has called revis out like the skins did with haynesworth? He under contract just like fat Albert.
I think Shannahan probably egged his players on to doing that too. Rex would never allow his players to dump on Revis.
You mean he won't get hogtied and strung up on the goal post upside down w/ heat balm and a gatorade shower when he gets back to practice?
And thats the only thing thats ever been reported with good sources and is probably closest to the truth. You are dead on WSW. Thats the frustrating part of reading through the Mike F threads...and listening to all the talk show hosts saying "this is bullshit..this guy is your best player...JUST GET IT DONE JETS". I mean...people that makes statements like that are probably Yankee fans (like me..guilty as charged) This is the friggin NFL that has a cap...for the last time...TEAMS HAVE A CAP. Im not sure how hard it is to grasp that if the Jets were to say Yes to Revis's wild demands..it would cost them in the future. Would Revis recognize this and redo his do-over contract? History says probably not. The Jets are in a real pickle here with the fanbase...the media...and what they need to do for the future of this franchise. Crazy responses like "JUST GET IT DONE!!" are so off base without knowing the full details of what the Revis demand is...and how it affects the entire franchise the next 1-10 years.
